Make a note of these, they will be the guide for all future Fun Shoots'
SmallCal.

RFC Fun Shoot; Classes and Rules
This Fun Shoot is for any RF cartridge rifle, to include the following, .22 RF, .22 Mag. , .17 RF.

All targets in each class are shot at 25 yards.

The (old) rules for Class 1 expired 4-30-09 and have been deleted. (This update to C-1 made 7-16 09)

Note that we will use three different classes of rifles for this shoot and from now on and these class rules will apply for all future Fun Shoots. Make a note of them.

(NEW Rules for Class 1 Fun Shoot as of 7-16-`09 SPECIAL ADDENDUM to C1 irons and scoped shoot. PLEASE NOTE, that from this date (2-4-2019) on forward the ammo used in this class is limited in price to $4.00 per box for 50 rounds.

This Class 1 Fun Shoot is reserved for beginners and novice of any age.
Targets will be generous and fairly easy to learn on.
Class 1. Box Stock HUNTING/PLINKING rifles only, NO target rifles allowed. Allowed modifications will be limited to the addition of a scope with variable power settings and shortening of the butt stock for fit to smaller shooters. Scope power will be assigned at the time of the shoot. Usually not more than 9X. Iron sighted rifles will use original sights or replacements like the original. Any rest is allowed except Machine Rest.
These modifications to this Class 1 shoot are implemented to allow older beginners and novice shooters to join in the Fun Shoot without the heavy competition of shooting against target type rifles and highly skilled shooters. Those rifles and shooters will go to Class 2 from now on. If you have questions, PM me direct. SmallCal

PLEASE NOTE, that from this date (2-4-2019) on forward the ammo used in this class is limited in price to $4.00 per box for 50 rounds.

SmallCal

(Unchanged)
Class 2; Modified Hunting/Sporting Rifles. Allowed modifications will be limited to the addition of adjustable scopes with the power setting assigned at each shoot, adjustable receiver sights, globe front sights, trigger modifications/replacement to lighten weight of pull but NO low end limit but must be safe. Barrel replacement of any design that doesn`t make your rifle exceed the weight limit of 10.5 lb. total weight. Stock modifications or replacement stocks that resemble thumbhole or sporting stocks which have a convex forend profile and horizontal width no greater than 2 inches wide are allowed.
If your Modified Sporting Rifle exceeds any one or more of the above limits, it will be in the higher Class 3 group.

(Unchanged)
Class 3; All of those rifles that were/are designed for the strict purpose of Bench Rest Shooting with unlimited modifications and all of those rifles that exceed any limits in the Modified Hunting/Sporting Rifle class.
This class can be divided into two sub classes of those bench rifles with scopes (unlimited power) and those with iron sights (unlimited type). This sight division will allow all of the super race guns to be included here.

If you are unsure of the class you should be in, go to the next higher class and state that on your score/target postings.
I do know that there will be some rifles that are so close to fitting into more than one category that its hard to tell where they should go. If in question, go up a class.

Post score as shown here.

I've been a little distracted for the last week, bought this last Saturday

A brand new Mazda 3, Touring. Same engine as the 6-series, MANUAL 6-speed, all leather, moonroof, and Bose (9 speaker) entertainment system.
It's a lot of fun... I'm impressed!

7 day anniversary today . :D

Outstanding overall styling.
I love the color White when it has just a hint of Blue in it to make it bright, and then contrast that with Ruby red taillights. Sweet.

Sport mirrors, round racing type gas lid, perfect upward sweep line on the bottom of the doors, and just a hint of that Bull Dog look I personally really love (*see '97 911).

Now the front door / rear door trim interface is a bit off.:(

However all in all, when you add Madza's Zoom...Zoom handling, engine, brakes, and 6 speed tranny, it's quite a tasty little devil.:)

Stan you should Zoom that baby up to the Kenmore range for a day of shooting, along with some car talk.
I'd love to share stories.

Thanks Smooth :)

It's awfully white. I'll ponder for a while before I'll do anything, but pinstripes sound kinda nifty...

The club is in Hutchinson, MN.

It's warmed up to a balmy 43 F so far today! :)

Thanks! I wasn't quite sure what I was, as far as classification, so I aimed high.

Also; I thought this would be like shooting fish in a barrel (NOTE: is that actually easy to do?!?). Alas, this was more difficult than I thought!

I'll try again! I was having some good luck just with CCI standard for the first few shots; then it started having failure to extract every single shot. I think my rifle/that ammo combo doesn't like the cold. It did fine with the expensive stuff.

Also; I bought some card stock from Target today. I'm hoping next time it will be easier for me to score.

Thanks for letting me play! It was fun.

I see I'm going to have to get out and shoot some targets soon, y'all are getting a head start on me. It won't be the CZ 452 this month, it's on vacation while its scope is trying out a new host.
I like the looks of the Mazda 3 too Stan, but white cars and I have a troubled history.. the OCD in me needs a car that only looks dirty when it's truly filthy with road grime. White and black.. not so much.
All that aside, I might give one of those a try. I'm driving a 12 yr old Honda that just ticked over 300k on my way home tonight. It doesn't owe me much..lol

My old Remington is all cleaned, weather-gods permitting, we'll try to get a target this week!

First time on these matches but decided I would use it as a warm-up for the monthly CZ Green Monster target. Needless to say, I need to warm up a little more. Shooting a CA 452 American with a V24 Weaver set at 12X in the Class II scoped match with a Caldwell Tacdriver front bag and a Protector rear bag. Nice day, just didn't do the day justice by the score. 130/150.

I see my problem now. I'm so shaky I can't even take a clear picture.

It was a rainy/showery day, but I managed to squeak in a little range time.

Weather conditions, 63 degrees, overcast
Excuses, none

I've got roughly 200 bucks in the rifle w/the scope, you can't get a more basic rifle than this...

Horrendous trigger pull, too .

:F

#55 ·
The Mossberg has it's flaws, but it gets the job done!

This is a good way to see if I've still got it when getting down to basics.

Thank you for putting this together!
