International question

I've had a Grey laminated stocked 10/22 for several years. It's been in the back of the safe seems like forever. It is still unfired. I am wanting to know if the international stock effects accuracy? Any upgrades to get the most out of these rifles?

What rings and bases would be recommended? Thanks for the help.

nice manny. anything that can be done to a regular 10/22 can be done to the manny. PC scope base is good. the new style factory base is good too. lots of options for that. the stock does not affect the accuracy more that the junk chamber in the factory barrel.

I'm going to go shoot it tomorrow. I want to get a idea of how it shoots.

Nemo, I might need you to do a little magic on it. I like the way it feels for a hunting rifle. What kind of accuracy should I expect pre work and after some of your handy work?

Thanks.

That looks like a Wal Mart special from a few, probably more than 10, years ago. My friend has one. Don't remember what they sold for, but they are pretty scarce now, and desirable. I wouldn't modify it at all. They do have some collector value, as is.

I received it as a Christmas gift at least 10 years ago. It was a walmart rifle. It is unfired at this point. I don't have the box or paper work though.

before can be anywhere from .5" which would be great up to 5-6" at 25 yds and i've seen worse. the only way to find out is trigger time. after a work over the sky is the limit. i can do a zero (.0XX") group at 25 just about anytime i want and MOA or better as far as you care to shoot.

I don't think the collector's value is going to be very much on down the road. I might be wrong.

I think it will be a sweet hunting rig. Nemo, I will post up some groups and then we can go from there. I think it will be a fun little project.

Without box and papers, you are correct that collector value will be diminished. So, I'd shoot it. However, I would not modify it. Any collector value, of which there is some for that model, is actually in the stock and barrel. Believe me.
