Another Mk II question about......

Log in to see fewer ads
I need another favor from you nice folks.

Will someone be so kind and measure the front sight height from the highest point to the lug that the spring pin is in on the 6 7/8" barrel. Ole Bubba (not me this time) took a file to the one on my pistol and I would like to know how much material has been removed.

Thanks in advance.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

I come up with .426, but that's with 73 year old eyes.

Thanks,

Maybe someone will confirm it. I have a eye Doc appointment Thursday, I can't focus my right eye.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

Thanks for your help, my front sight measured approximately .420 high. Maybe not enough to change the point of impact.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

You can get a new front sight! Dawson has excellent replacement sights and different heights!

Ruger Mark II

You might try calling Ruger, in the past they mailed a front sight on my Government 67/8" markII for free. They even sent the screw to mount it.
Hope this helps out.

Bob

.006 off your front sight will raise you point of impact about 6" at 25 yards. You may be able to dial down your rear sight about 12 clicks to compensate the shorter front sight. Just a thought.
