I use Automatch to break in new rifles and just play around with and it isn't bad ammo for Bulk Box ammo. But your 457 will quickly break into the 220's and above with some Subsonic ammo that it likes. If you are one to not just let go of a dime (like Mr. Crabs), I suggest SK Magazine (if you can find it online) or CCI Standard Velocity if you can't.
Thanks for the advice. Iím a little cheap and like to just plink and run through a few hundred rounds in a normal sitting. This is my squirrel rifle so the droptine does well enough for that. I like it and the glass is clear, and itís adjustments are very repeatable. My bench rifle isnít legal for this competition... leaves me for a reason to buy another rifle I suppose!

Well it was 33 degrees with windchill at 7 am so had to push this attempt out a few hours. Havenít posted a green Monster since maybe June 2019? Time flies...
Anyhow, happy with the score considering the windchill and my rust. Biathlon was probably overkill but worked well. Found an unopened brick last night so figured I should give it a try. Has to get warmer going forward right?

Welcome back John. Always good to see folks come back for more fun. I didn't look like you used a plug on those holes cause I see at least 2 more points.

Twostep (Bobby)....... listen to squirrelbark. He took me from the 220's to the upper 240's in just a year with his advise. But when he tells you something, act on it quickly. The effect only lasts for a year or so.

End of April

WOW!

From puppies to incredible shooting. It's been a month if you ask me.

Well, as encouraged by Lasttomstone and Squirlback I'm submitting an unconservative Official Entry. Got this one last Sunday early. Just sat down and settled in for some more tweaking. Bam... My all time best.

Please weigh in if you see anything that's pushing the limits of proper scoring. The close calls are marked with a -P

All the best,
Peter

Thanks, Lee. Here is a better pick of the 455 FS.

Don't forget............

Just in case there are some of you who are in the same boat with me and have trouble keeping up with time......... tomorrow is the last day of the month. I have been off by 2 days most of the month for some reason. If you have a target to post for the month, get it done by tomorrow night. For those who have already posted targets, please make sure you mark your best as "Official Entry" to help an old codger out.

Lee,. I was away for 2 weeks and wasn't able to get a target shot. Storms coming today and tomorrow with high winds and heavy rain. So, went to the range yesterday to give it a go. Winds were relatively strong and frequently switched. I am also trying to get better with a 9x scope. Last time I used a 9x scope, I was shooting at a deer 30+ years ago. Scored a 230/3x. I will attempt to get a pic of the target to you but no promises as my name and the words "tech savvy" will never be used in the same sentence. A shooting friend I have talked into doing this with me also shot a target (he is currently not on RFC but that is coming). He scored a 226/1x. We had a good time shooting this target and we look forward to our target(s) for May. And, my wife says she wants to give it a try in May. Definitely more fun ahead! Thanks for your efforts to keep this going. And congratulations to all who posted targets for April. Some impressive shooting!
