If it is only 1/2 of what your 10/22 stocks look like it still going to be great!

Yesterday I did a test on my templates I built for my inletting. So far, I'm only using four, but, I think I'll have to have a couple more. My measurements were taken from the original stock and I think I'm gonna tweak them a little. The original stock barrel channel is over a quarter inch wider than the barrel. That's gonna be made a little tighter, probably 1/16" clearance. This build is gonna take some time, but I enjoy doing something different and challenging. Here's a few pictures of my progress, so far.

Thanks for checking out my work. You said youíve built a few Anschutz stocks, I have a question for you. This rifle has a recoil lug, Iím gonna have to come up with a lug in this stock and the only idea I have come up with so far is finding a woodruff key the right thickness to mount in the stock. Would you have any suggestions for me?

Larry, I use the woodruff keys for the recoil lugs when I bed a stock works great. if you want actual Anschutz recoil lugs Champions Choice sells them they are called bedding abutment.
Anschutz Abutment for Bedding Part # 180755- $8.00 ea., cheaper to use the woddruff keys though.

here is an example of the woodruff key used as a recoil lug-

Hey Lee, I guess my idea wasnít that crazy. I think Iíll take the barrel down to our NAPA store and see what they can come up with. They should have a key that will work.

Scott, you do good looking inletting, I’m guessing you are gonna bed the receiver also. I also see you are bedding that first inch or two of the barrel, is that the thing to do with a bull barrel Anschutz?
Larry

G'day Lee/Larry, about .002" as i jam a piece of cut feeler guage beside the lug to hold it in place when i glue it into the stock.I also put a piece in the groove which is removed after the bedding so as to stop rocking of the action. The lug goes about1/2 inch into the stock. The piece of bedding material you see in the photo is to hold the barrel and action in the centre of the stock, there is one near the front ,one near the action(the one you can see) and one right at the tang.
