I've gotta quit looking at these RimX 17WSM builds but I'm like a moth to any open flame and the more I look the more I like them.

Very nice build. You put it together yourself or a Smith do it? You will enjoy that for a long time.

Probably the nicest 17 WSM Iíve seen! I commend you for your investment. Iíve bought and sold several 17 WSMs and several more project rifles to convert but never did. I almost sold my current VQ IF-5 with ammo to fund another unique rifle but backed out. Itís seems to be settling in nicely as a permanent member of the herd now, if that makes sense.
Donít understand the definitive-sounding statement about ammunition not improving. Some lots are not great, but others shoot well under MOA, with most groups about .75Ē at 100 yards out of the semiauto VQ. Iíve owned only a few .22 lr rifles that would even get close to that, and thatís with no wind at all. For shooting eggs at 200 yards, it has no peer in the rimfire world, and itís a semiauto allowing immediate follow up. It is the only rifle my grandkids want to use past 100 yards. The only downside is the noise from the blow-forward brake. I just remove it now.

That is a very nice looking rifle. Obviously it shoots well too. Also, I bet it is much lighter then my clunker of a BMAG too. Even with the bipod attached.

When they actually look like a rifle should they shoot much better. That thing is sharp.
