New to me XXII

New to us Weatherby XXII. Well we went to pick up her NAA derringer that she wanted for a mothers day gift and she saw me looking at this and said to the clerk "I'll take that Also" It is hers (ours) and fathers day is coming up so we'll see. Not used much just a few dings on the wood and metal. Didn't know Mossberg could do such nice work.
I posted this on the Mossberg sub forum but got no response so i thought I'd see what happens here. Weaver V22-A scope seems ok. What do you guys say?

Were I to get a semi-auto, It'd be the only American made version by Mossberg. I like it!

Could be? Not too many Mossberg SN's are there?

TwoFast4Me, I bought the bolt action XXII version, another short run.

I'd say you got a very nice looking rifle.

I suggest you get an owner's manual for it so you can have a handy reference for part numbers, use of the single-shot / semi-auto selector switch, and removing the action from the stock. I found mine online a while back, it is very short. A parts diagram and list, and one page of text, but has the essentials covered.

You may also want to upgrade the scope. I've put two different "leftover" scopes on mine, using Traditions A797DS medium rings, which work fine and are inexpensive to boot.

Look forward to some shooting/range reports. My particular version, an older plain wood Beretta model, isn't as accurate as others have reported theirs to be, but shoots CCI SV the best.

Nice score, and have fun with it.

Thanks for all the replies and support. We did shoot it with somewhat disappointing results, fail to eject mostly, the gun didn't appear to have much use so after a work out and better cleaning i hope for better and I do have another scope. thanks again
