We are really no different than any other 10/22 group out there. no different than the BR guys. no different than the Tacticool guys. no different from any of them. We are all taking a gun and doing to it / with it things it was never meant to do. here in SS we take a basicly stock looking gun and shoot full blown BR type groups with them. the Tacticool guys turn them into fun accurate understudys for the expensive to shoot CF guns they also love or perhaps cant yet afford. the BR guys do everything possible to make them hang the bolt guns that they shoot against. no mod is too silly or trick far out to try as long as it makes them work or work better.

we are all the same. we are all going the same place driving the same car. the car just has different paint and different options. lets stop bashing each other for what we build or do with our builds and just let bygons be bygons. to each thier own.

I can live with the gun part. What I have trouble with is the "Let's pretend we are killing people part.

Some guy who frequents the Tactical 10/22 forum posed the strawman argument that the rest of RFC looked down on the tactical guys. Like all such "arguments" it starts with a false premise -- in this case it is that everyone else dislikes the tactical guys. Instead of just going off and eating some worms, however, they've entertained themselves and many others with a long-running thread of give-and-take "discussion" of how, why, and how often they are disrespected by everyone else.

Once you get that it is all based on a false assumption to begin with, the trolling, baiting and defensive posting that matches is humorous but some are taking it personally and way too seriously.

That's my version of it, anyway

yea, Sophia,

your post kinda jogged my memory a bit about the matches part. still dont know what their beef is. but ADMIN gave them a forun of their own. if i was into "black" guns i would be happy as it is.

actually, had to wear camo and carry a "REAL" black gun, but was forced to.

"Uncle Sam" said i had to. no more for me.

Rico....

Actually he asked why the rest of RFC "Hates" Tactical.

Sophia pretty much hit it on the head.

I have never liked the idea of tactical thing of playing at killing people. I have no problem with people building what ever kind of gun they like. "Tactical", by definition, is about killing.

It is unfortunate that parts of our industry play on this. Paint it black and call it "tactical" and you will sell it to a certain number of people just because it is "tactical".

A TRUE story. One of our major ammo companies brought out a "low recoil" 12 ga defensive shotgun load. Like most 12 ga it was red. They could not sell the stuff even to the real SWAT type folks. They changed the color of the plastic case to black and renamed it a "tactical" 12 ga load and now they sell all they can make. Those rough tough SWAT guys and the "tactical" wannabes would not be caught in pink panties with a "low recoil" load but snapped it up in black "tactical" form

It is just the opposite of the gun banners. They (the gun banners) KNOW a black rifle is bad. They KNOW a walnut and blue rifle is a hunting rifle.

About 7 years ago a bunch of people were shown a bolt action rifle with a black stock and a bipod and they agreed it should be banned. They were shown a blue steel rifle with a beautiful walnut stock and they agreed it was a "sporting arm" and should not be banned. It was the VERY SAME Mod 700 Remington with the stock painted black and a bipod added!

The "people" being surveyed? CA law makers.
