HJA8, was the laminated stock on the 1710 HB stainless a factory option? Never seen one before.

Cam's correct A couple turned up here in Australia in 2010 and I stumbled across this listed on an inter-state dealer's inventory.

I have a laminate stock on my 1710, bought the stock from egun in Germany sold by Anschutz. So with the one in the US I now know of 2, very rare.

I know it's not as rare as the laminated stock 1710, but how scarce would the 1710 currently on Gun Broker be with stainless HB in a Meister Grade?

I wouldn't call it scarce, nor would I call it very common. They made enough of them back in the day, and I believe they still offer 1710s with a SS barrel.
Cool looking, but doubtful they would command much of a premium.

I sorta almost owned one of them. Ordered it as such, but a hornet came in by mistake. I wasn't so interested in that caliber, but the wood was sensational, so I bought it anyway. Later sold the action when I determined that I was strictly a rimfire guy. A 1710HB all blue action later went into that great stock.

I could never warm up to plywood stocks on a high end rifle. Especially as they are priced with little difference.

At least Cooper puts steel grip caps and rubber butt pads on theirs, sort of like lipstick on a pig...Tom

A nice piece of wood, in my mind, is definitely a plus on a rifle... With that said I have had several Anschutz rifles with Really ho hum wood - and that's being Very charitable.
