I'm with MM above - I tried some Aguila back during the "shortage" and based on my experience would never buy it again. Even Super-X was better.

Every rifle is different, though.

Well, there's nothing as certain as change with these various brands and grades within brands of ammo.

Over my many years of shooting I've seen some change from good to great to bad.......and if bad, the next brick I buy can be better.

The only thing I REFUSE to buy at any price is the famous Remington Thunderdud.

Golden bullets and Super X have usually been ok or better and everything CCI and Federal has always done well for me.

Depends on the type of shooting you're doing, too........if it's precision you want to buy the REALLY expensive stuff.

AND.......now I get to try some Aguila for the first time.......What's Aguila mean in Mexican.........Eagle?

May they fly like the eagle. Well, a little faster, I hope.

I bought a quantity of copper plated Aguila 22lr from Natchez a couple of decades ago. Back then a lot of the box was written in spanish.

It was easily the worst feeding 22lr with the highest number of duds I've ever encountered. I suffered my way through it and made a note not to buy more.

Following the post Sandy Hook drought when I was down to my last 20,000 rounds, Target Sports got Aguila in stock at $400 a case. I gambled and won. It was reliable and accurate. I read posts about how it must be awful. I can't believe people are buying this mexican garbage when I can get CCI for 10 cents per round! Target Sports had cases of Aguila subsonic for $350. It printed some of the best groups I've ever shot. I only shoot accurate ammunition, so I'll never touch that bulk garbage! Lambos had cases for barely more than $200, so I bought more. It was good too.

TLDR: I had a very rough experience with Aguila early on, but taking the risk on trying it again made for a lot of good shooting and saved me from ever foregoing shooting for lack of ammunition.

EDIT - Just to avoid any confusion: When I clip on a bipod and shoot a two inch group at 100 yards I'm happy. When I get it down to an inch and a quarter edge to edge, I'm thrilled. That might not be good enough for some of you, and I'm not calling you a fool for spending more than eight, seven or four cents per round.

Iíve shot lot of Aguila Super Extra CPHPs, Iíve never had any issues with it, I still have 2000-3000 rounds in the inventory, easy to tell it has that Eley primer smell.

I'm only familiar with Aguila SV, but it's my top choice for my TX22. My top priority is functioning, price, and supressability. This ammo is too fast for quiet shooting in my rifle, but great in the pistol.

2 of the 3 Wally's near me have had this in stock for a couple of weeks for $22 and it is not disappearing off the shelves. Good news in general of course but no help if your location is out.

If only someone would sell those bricks at that price with shipping. I'd love to buy at a net price of about 8 cpr. Our Wally's have nothing and I'm not in a difficult state.

Gave up on wallyworld along time ago. Empty shelves for couple or more years. I scored a case from armslist locally for 250.00. PSA selling them for 39.99 each. Hopefully it comes on down and everyone can get some.
