Ynned, thanx for setting up this match. I have been shooting the "Off-Hand Rifle Match" for 5-6 years. This gives me a "purpose" to get the Ruger and the Browning Challenger II (scoped gun) out of the house more often. I usually shoot steel. This will test my skills.
You're Welcome. Hopefully we can garner as much interest as Bob's rifle match has.

Great fun, can I use the 1911 or rim fire only?

Only a first run, will conform to the scoring format. Just good to go out and shoot. I’m 72 and prefer Iron sights.

Well either that heart rate dropped as you shot, or you were clearing out some rusty trigger finger, but those scores sure did go up as you progressed. I've never shot revolvers much, so I doubt my score would have gone up as much as yours did. <img src="https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif" border="0" alt="" title="EEK!" class="inlineimg" />

As for other calibers, I know the issue came up when this was revived by Ynned, but as far as I'm concerned if it gets more people shooting pistols it might be worth a try. We could maybe just note all non rimfire calibers into another category or something.

Though in my case, my score would likely go down. Without adjustable sights, my centerfire entries would suffer. And at current time I think I've got about 12 differing types of ammo due to not being able to find much of any one kind!

Purple Biker,

Glad to see that you shoot offhand pistol as well as rifle. And with all the Ruger owners on this site, I knew there had to be more than me that were actually shooting them.

Canít wait for the snow to melt so I can get back to the offhand rifle. I had to shovel a 10 yard path to the berm for this one. Will give it a try with a center fire as Iíve always tended to shoot the bigger calibers better. Would tell my cohorts itís the cheap Polack in me..........they cost more so I have to try harder.
My wife wants to give it a go but says sheís not a member, told her thatís not a factor.

Great shooting Mike, and glad to see another Mark II shooting. Consistent on those X counts as well.

Rich J, you could always buy some grossly overpriced rimfire to shoot if the money is the motivation!

Hey, that doesn't look so bad Dennis.
Kind of looks like my 50-Yd rifle attempts, with one exception---all your shots are on the paper !

Cheers
Bob

Thanks, Bob. I reckoned when I started this I'd be kinda out of my league, since I'm just a plinker, but hopefully I can start seeing some improvement.

OK, the February scores are up, Let me know if I screwed something up, or I didn't wait long enough for you to post, or whatever.

For those who didn't get in on the early discussion, score compilations are a sticky thread at the top of this forum:

A nice, bright, sunny day, so I went back out to Dad's and shot a box. My best this year at 15 yds, 157
4X. More remakably, actually, was the fact I shot an entire box of the Armscor Precision crap without a single dud.

I have looked at Midway and failed to find the targets you mentioned. I might give this game a try if I can get targets for that price. Can you provide a link to the specific target please. Thank you.

This should be the one he is talking about.

You can find versions online to print, but really at that price it's cheaper to buy a pack.

Thanks for getting this rolling Dennis. Hopefully it will grow as time goes on. The spreadsheets look good to me, but you did leave jsenick's name off the one entry on 15 yards.

And it looks like so far, Rugers are outnumbering non Rugers by 2 to 1!

Also good to see you hit a new high score. I had a few bricks of that Armscor stuff, and really had few problems with misfires. But I suspect your scores might
go up when you find something else.... the stuff I had was really inconsistent and could throw some crazy fliers now and then. Here and there I would get lucky and get 10-20 rounds that were sort of consistent.... but not often.

Thanks, Signmaster. I bought 2 bricks of that ammo a little over a year ago, just before prices went crazy; 22 bucks each, I think. I've had at least 1 or 2 FTF in almost every box, and it's not the gun. I usually pull them out and turn them a little to try a new place on the rim, then try a different gun, but no joy. I have a few lying around with up to 4 or 5 strikes. I know folks on here bemoan the Federal Golden Bullets and Thunderclap, or bolt, or whatever, but I don't remember ever having any duds with them, or any other cheap bulk ammo, which is all I shoot. I've probably had a few over the years, but nothing like this.

Good eyes on that score. I took the screenshot with the spreadsheet scrolled over a column or two, and didn't notice. It's fixed now.
Thanks again,
Dennis

Thanks Signmaster. I got 2 packs ordered along with a new front sight for my turkey gun. I'm hoping to get invloved with this match to help get my form back in shape for PPC matches that I have been out of for 15 years. Hope to get a target posted this month.
