10% last I noticed..

Cheapest place in town is still $2.24 for corn swill.

Time will tell how much the Keystone XL pipeline shutdown will affect prices.

I filled up yesterday and the price has made it to $2 .249. I'm not complaining. This area depends on oil for making a living and the latest numbers from the state show my county to have the highest jobless rate in the state even with the covid shutdowns. The oil busts hit us especially hard while the rest of the country is gloating over low gas prices. Our natural resources are oil and dirt with very little water which makes the dirt pretty worthless for making a living.

$2.179 per for super unleaded (10-15% ethanol) in Alliance,NE yesterday. I think $.25 per higher for regular unleaded at the same convenience store, but I don’t buy that, so I don’t pay much attention. I travel back and forth across Nebraska on freight trains regularly, and this is the cheapest super unleaded in the state, that I’m aware of. We are farmland owners, so we are big believers in ethanol plants, and ethanol/bio enhanced fuels.

Gas in Paducah, KY 2.149 and across the river in Illinois 2.599. That money saving bridge seems to be a true saying. Surprised the Gov. of IL hasn't put up toll booths.

About $2.20 in Durham, NC. Last filled my tank right after Thanksgiving. Tank still on full since I work from home.

Gas is a "dirty" business in more than one way. The more than one way, way, is it dirties and gums up engines. An associate at work told me about Yamaha Ring Free. It helps bring 4 cycle engines back to life. Yamaha Ring Free, (last I looked) contained a Cleaner product called Techron which is probably why it works well at cleaning dirty carbs.

In order to be called "Top Tier" gasoline, these gasoline's must meet standards and contain cleaners such as and similar to Chevron's Techron.

I no longer look for the cheapest gas. Only Top Tier goes into my vehicle/small engines, hopefully preventing problems before they begin. So far I'm pleased with Top Tiers performance in the vehicle and small engines and if left in the small engines tanks till next season (I know I shouldn't) it seems to still perform better than any ole run of the mill gasoline.

https://www.chevronlubricants.com/en...d/techron.html

PS. Alcohol is a cheap octane booster which burns poorly at today's family vehicle compression ratios. It actually retards the ignition point of the gasoline's explosion thereby raising its octane rating. I do however use 10% in my vehicle.

Note: Indy in 2007 went to 100% Ethanol and today use E-85 and I've read their engines are higher compression to account for the Alcohol Fuel. In 2021 Indy may use a different fuel.

Remember "Leaded" gasoline? That was another el-cheapo used for retarding ignition and raising octane ratings. It was mixed into the gasoline in the form of super fine lead dust which covered many a structure in the big cities once it exited the tailpipes.
