The 2021 Patriots’ Day Appleseed extravaganza of clinics is behind us. Wow - the slew of AARs in the AS forum have been great to comb through!

Who here went to a Patriots’Day clinic this year? How did you do? What did you learn this time around? What stood out to you on your clinic? Pray tell, Appleseeders?

I was an instructor at one and a student at another. I shot really well and improved at instructing! I took lots of pictures of some visual aids that another state uses, some of which I plan to incorporate. What stood out to me is the sacrifices that the patriots in 1775 made for us, their posterity.

I attended day 1 of 2, last weekend of April in Chino Valley Az.

Wind was so bad, we were shooting at moving targets lol.
Had target frames break though out the day. Couple of guns became unserviceable with all the blowing dirt getting into the actions.

Decided not to return for d2, weather forecast was predicting same conditions and it's a 4 hour round trip from Phoenix

Shootboss, his AI's & the class prevailed as best they could but the wind gods would not cooperate.

Great Patriots Day

I attended/instructed at the Appleseed Patriots Day clinic in Cleveland TN and found it to be a heartwarming event.

We had many young students, down to age 10, who learned to safely shoot accurately while learning where their Liberty came from.

It gave me a bit of hope.

I attended the Patriots day weekend clinic at Quarryville, PA as an IIT2 (Instructor In Training - Level 2) and as a Adaptive Appleseed role model. Have always tried to remain open-minded for input from our shooters to become a better person and instructor. Employed a bit of "Adapt - Overcome- Improvise" contingency plans for a shooter requiring an alternate and stable shooting platform.

I was able to attend a Patriot's Day event in South Huntsville, AL. It was my second event as an IIT and I learned a great deal about teaching the skills of a Rifleman. My son attended his first event as a shooter and learned and got better the whole weekend.

Sunday, before the volley I was able to squeeze in a couple AQT's and requalify. It was my first time trying with a centerfire rifle and trying with optics, I was very pleased to squeak out a score and earn that fancy new full-color patch!!

My son wasn't able to put it all together but he says he'll persist and come back till he qualifies.
