Disinformation from Ruger? Federal? Well, if anyone knows for sure, let us know.

That said, and as stated above, "punch" is brass.
That's likely due to your fridge using a thin stainless cosmetic sheath over a steal clad door. Or it could just be really cheap CCP sourced stainless.

There was some steel cased Russian .22lr around several years ago, some swore by it and others swore at it.... I'm thinking the Federal is plated brass...

But steel cased .22lr is not unknown.

Correct. It's is not unknown but it would be foolish to assume Federal or any company designing rimfire ammo to be used for self defense and designing it to be as reliable as possible would use a steel case.

The original poster who got this email from Ruger should reply to it and tell these dummies not to send out such BS. It's not good for their reputation

I think the response was not accurate. Like stingers, I think federal is using nickel plated brass cases for punch. I think you can use them in a Mark II. They are very tough guns! Just don't twist the bolt stop when removing it. That torque can crack the link to the mainspring over time. I know from experience........... Tap it out with a nylon punch. The steel frame and receiver on a mark II is tougher than a 10/22.

Of course you can use them in any Ruger rimfire chambered in .22lr. Or any Other brand.

A little off topic but I wonder how they would be be for squirrel hunting? Flatter trajectory, flat point? Kind of like stingers without as much destruction. Anybody tried them as a hunting round?

If they shoot like the stingers I tried, they wouldn't destruct anything. I have my doubts of QC of zippy 29grn ammo for SD pistols.
