For grins. A Model 800 .22 Target Air Pistol I picked up at an estate sale last year.

A little oil, Big 45 pad, some pellets = good fun.

Also, do an internet search for the Engineering Case Library 'ECL-134: Development of the Hy-Score Air Pistol' pdf. Copyright 1969 by the Board of Trustees of Leland Stanford Junior University. Interesting historical background.

Classy old piece - Thanks! I like the looks of this old timer.

Hows the trigger - Very smooth, clean break. Better than some of the Daisys I shot last week.

What kind of groups at what distance - Hitting cans regularly at around 30 ft. Put it this way... more accurate than I am. And consistent power. As far as I know, never had seal replacements. A little oil keeps it going!

Bottom line, I would buy another of these oldies rather than some of the newer CO2 pistols. Plus the HY-SCORE has a cool backstory.

Do you have one?

I had one of those years ago. Parents gave it to me when I was around 12. I could hardly cock it until it and I got a little older but I had a lot of fun with it. It was reasonably powerful and accurate although I had nothing except the standard BB gun to compare to.

Loaded from the muzzle with short wire clippings (I was also into electronics) topped by a paper wad it was deadly on bugs at close range.
