Relining a Savage 87A

Has anyone ever had a Savage 87 relined or done it yourself? I'm thinking of giving it a try, other then buying a new barrel from Numrich. My main concern being it's a semi-auto and would the liner stand up to slamming of the bolt. Thank for any feedback.

Larry Potterfield did a video on relining a rifle. I believe he glued it in with green Loctite or something similar.

He made it look easy, but then he's got all the right tools.

Was a single shot, though; not a semi. My personal feeling is that a semi would reline ok, but I'm no expert.

Far from an expert myself, that's why I'm here asking. I did see that video and it started me thinking I might be able to do it myself. Thanks for your feedback.

How much is a new barrel from Numrich?

Do they have them in stock?

I considered relining a Stevens 14 1/2 Little Scout barrel a few years ago. I added up the cost of a pilot drill, liner, chamber tool, etc. and decided it wasn't worth the expense. Just bought another barrel.
