I've seen the one in Yuma, but I never knew we had one in Ks.

theres two at fort sill, ok.
one is the origional "Atomic Annie" that fired the atomic shell in arizona for the press. one still has the two trucks too.

cool, yes...but I don't think they would be allowed in SS Heavy

they're not semi auto and the stock is definitely military/tactical

NO military or "Tactical" rifles here! This a "Traditional Varminter" class of rifle.

it might be a Marlin, its got a microgroove barrel.

the accuracy is said to be within 5 feet of target at 6 miles or so. not too bad for a 15 kilo ton nuke.

I drive by the Ft Riley gun almost on a daily basis. Makes an impressive site when backlit by the sunrise. Looks like freedom

my pops

My pops worked with the one that was fired. Every time we go to Ok. we stop by Ft Sill just to make sure the sign attached to the mount is still there.

My family would always kid me about glowing the dark. I did not have any ideal what they were talking about.

Anyway he drove one of tractors that moved it around.

He is covered with cancer from being to close to the blast.

have you googled "atomic Annie"? there are some pictures online of it being loaded and fired, may be some of your dad.
