No nice target rifle, but this .22 works about 98% of the time ...

KKM

Picked up this rifle a while back. Thought I'd share some pics. I believe it is the International Match.

Walther P22

Took this in on a trade. It appears to be made in 2003 according to the date code.
It should be a good match with our Walther G22.

Yepper that is a pretty old one. It doesn't have the first issue mags with no stagger slots (which didn't feed properly) so you should be good to go. I would still put a #83 O ring over the guide rod to act as a buffer between the slide and take down lever stop. It acts as a rubber buffer......a number of those P99 style slides have cracked. Lifetime warranty though. 1917

Walther PPQ Q5 Match 9mm recently purchased.
Most easy to field strip but the bore configuration was quite surprise!
25M test target shows promise.
the trigger needs tweaking being more like a 3 stage on the first pull, approx 5# on the Lyman.

Seems a lot of people swear by that trigger Al, perhaps it needs a little breaking in. Nice pistol. If that is a 25M group...that is a nice group as well. Very nice. Oh, test target....1917

My next Walther.....sort of put together one. The original Photoshopped version with the one piece 5" slide of about 2005 got lifted and put in the Cabella's Christmas sales brochure. We had a laugh about that.

Sure wish I knew how to Photoshop. I have a program, an old one, but it is too complex for my skills. So the concept here is to put on a one piece aluminum slide with PPQ .22 5" ergonomics. Thicken the top of the slide enough for dovetails so sight options are possible including mounting a small red dot. The pistol will cycle them now and with a lighter aluminimum slide cycle ever better. I put on the PPQ slide release, target sights, changed the rails just a bit, slimmed up the trigger and got rid of the ugly wings. Raised the grip cutout just a bit too for a higher grip.

I purchased my last QD model P22 for $225 new. Since this pistol outsells all other Walther products combined it seem a few improvemnts could be made to the pistol. Drop the diecast zinc slide and frame halves. Aluminum slide, MIM'd steel frame halves. The after the P22, Ruger SR 22 and Smith Compact both cost more...so Walther how about revising the P22 to eliminate the things people never liked about them. Diecast zinc alloy heavy slide and frame.

Sure wish I knew how to operate Photoshop or Lightroom or something. Guess I need lessons. Mudbug over in Louisiana is helping me when he gets a chance. Wonder if these will show up in the Cabella catolog when finally put together????? 1917
