Thats a pretty Copperlock, well done. Only one knife purchase from a SMKW visit - thats using self control.

Boker Plus Gnome, this one a Micarta scaled model. Very compact. Look forward to giving it a try. Bought this one at Kennessaw Cutlery.

My wife found this knife in the road, next to a sidewalk while walking the dog (she's got all the luck!). A give away Zippo stamped knife. A picture of it with an old Zippo knife / money clip my Dad had squirrelled away from years back. Thats still NIB.

I just picked a CRKT Drifter G10 to use for EDC. So far I'm impressed for the cost. It is made in China but the quality seems acceptable. I'll see how the blade holds up but so far so good. For $20 I'm not out much if it doesn't last or if I lose it.

I have a few big knives too, but as I get older, I'm finding paring down to the 'bare necessities' has some real benefits. I rarely carry a sheath knife on my belt anymore, it goes in the ruck or other carry sack.

But when you have a need for hacking something big, the big blade does the job.

Here are two Camillus knives that came along in the mail for me today .

The yellow one is a yello jaket series ,folding lockback . They are discontinued now and I"ve been looking for sometime to aquire one of them for my collection .I have most of them but still need a trapper and a Canoe .I have never seen any of the Canoes for sale anywhere yet.If anyone happens to find a Yello jaket Canoe ,please let me know .

The second kinfe is a Camillus Sierra..Measuring 3 1/2" closed and a nice pocket clip, for me it will make a good edc.

I wasnt really looking for the Sierra but im happy to have won the pair for $17.00 on ebay .

Nice snags 17RemFan, that yellow scaled model appears to be a very practical sized EDC pocket blade. Both for $17 - you stole them.

Thanks jr. They are both in user condition but have since polished up very well.about 7ish out of 10 grade.I would have paid more for the yello jaket alone so I feel I got a nice deal this time around .I need a machine to get a nice edge on some of my knives.Stones and things dont seem to get it .Oh ,and even the black knife at 3.5" closed is great for edc.

Case Butterbean stag came in yesterday . . .

. . . found this one at the AAPK shops. I didn't have one of these patterns, and thought this one was pretty nice. 2001 date. Look at the size of this little guy . . .

You were right jr, it is pretty nice . Is that a 3" closed knife ? With all those round edges, that would make a very comfortable pocket carry knife.

Nice Colt knife. Snorkel carries some unusual Colt models that you don't normally see on Ebay from other sellers. Check out that Colt large lockback he has with the checkered handles. Sweet knife! Hey, that would match what you just bought! Same type handles. Check it out. He has it listed on Ebay right now.

I got a very nice Mcusta with Quince wood handle and damascus VG10 blade. I love this knife.

Si senor , I think actual length is listed as 2 3/4". Here is another shot of it opened, but you don't get a scale of it in this photo. Really need to work on my macro photo skills.

j.r.,

Nice baby canoe! I usually don't carry a nice or expensive EDC for fear of losing it. Many years ago, had a nice Benchmade. Had it clipped in my pants pocket. One night a work, it turned up missing. Don't know if it slipped out of my pocket and dropped or had some help form someone. That was a $80.00, gone. since then, I only carry an inexpensive knife. I was thinking of getting one of those Gerber folding utility knives with the replaceable box cutter blades. I think they are like $9.95 and have a pocket clip as well. That way, if I chip or break a blade, I can easily replace it. I found a box with about 200 of those utility blades in my tool box. I've had them for quite a while. I think I paid something like $1.50 for them at a garage sale. I seem to get quite a bit of use out of those box cutter type utility knives recently. The Gerber one is nice and compact. It folds and has a pocket clip. The finish is bead blasted stainless.

I think I have one of those EABs myself . . .

. . . yes, they make for a very practical EDC. Very flat as you mentioned and spare blades can be purchased nearly anywhere.

I wonder if with blade removed, could be carried onto airplane, then at destination, buying a blade for use there. Upon return flight, discard blade.

Check regulations, but I don't see why it wouldn't work - no blade, right?

The Colt Large Lockback is really sweet, comes with a sharpening steel with it's own pocket in the belt sheath.
