Picked up a Gerber US1, small single blade lock back. Made in USA.

Weighs about an ounce... nice successor to their old LST line.

Fine little drop point folder 9 x 19 . . .

. . . I am sure it will serve you well.

I found and purchased an old Browning 30181F2 Outfitter III lock back last night. Still in factory box (a bit tattered from shelf wear) but the knife itself was mint, as is the sheath. African Ebony covers, brass bolsters, 3" drop point - 3" trailing skinner blades, both locking 440C steel. Manufactured in the late 1970's - mid 1980's, cool old school Browning.

Buck 101

I've been wondering about these for a while. No more. Was pleased that it came with a pouch sheath and not a flap style. Now it matches my Buck 107 style.

Two new old ones

Got a German Mercator K55 folding knife for $7 on online auction, usually run $25. Very flat and pocket friendly with a nice spear blade. Also, a like-new Schrade 515 lockback single blade with MAC Tools on the Delrin handle. Sturdy knife, great old American quality, lightweight carry knife.

Found an old Cold Steel knife I've been searching for . . .

. . . the Outdoorsman, introduced back in 1988 or thereabouts. Lynn Thompson married the fighting tanto knife handle with a rounded blade tip which approximately 6" long. He later added a bone breaker spine to the design. Blade steels varied but AUS 8, VG-1, San Mai III laminated are among the steels. This model still exists, but in a much more inexpensive line named the Outdoorsman Lite. It receives good reviews and I might pick one up later, but the original is what really interests me.

I remember admiring it, but did not have the scratch to pay for it. I did some poking around and one of the AAPK members came through for me (thank you Moss ) and its on its way to me now. Can't wait to see it in person.

Garcia Survival Knife

I won this on GB last week. From what I have researched it was sold to Vietnam soldiers as private sales before going to war. The original knife made and sold was a Hackman but from what I read they couldn't keep up with production and Garcia started making them. It's pretty hefty. I hope to get it on the wicked edge sharpener today. I did use IOSSO bore cleaner to shine it up. Other than stainless I am not sure what the steel makeup is. The blade is 3/16" thick. Chime in if you know anything about this knife. Educate me.

Just got this Buck 112 from Copper & Clad. Lovely blade, no 6-8 wk. wait, and has become my EDC. Oh, and it was significantly less expensive than the Buck Custom Shop.

Picked up a few new ones at Blade West.

Here's a couple of shots of the WE Cirrus after I anodized it.

I think grgsailer was just letting RFC readers know that HF has some knives 'for cheap'.

Here is an ad for that particular Garcia knife you have. It might have some added information for you.

Nice knife btw.
