I talked to Helen at S&W yesterday and She told Me that She still had 1900 orders that havn't been even looked at. That in December they were flooded with requests.

She said, that hopefully every thing will be shipped by the last week of March. It all depends on what it is and if its in stock.

She said, my order for a Model 63 should be no problem as there wasn't many requests for it.

She is a real pleasure to talk too.

Then it's on its way to your FFL once the check clears.

What do you mean by a last minute change? Prior to December 31st, or after but before putting up your order?

I emailed them about my order and they said I was scheduled for mid April. If I could make a change before then, I just might do it. Hence my question above.

I did order Dec 21 and made the change last month. I did email to ask if I could do that and Hellene said it was not a problem. Thought hard about a NG 310 because 3" barrel, but leary of alloy frame standing up to lot of shooting so I went with the 4" 610 instead.

Helen called today, my 15-22 order is set to ship mid April. Ordered end of Dec.

She said they were swamped with orders, and trying to get them out soonest.

Me and my 3 extra mags sit here waiting!

Yes - it is a very good deal but MSRP is fairly high - so for me it came to a total of $381 OTD ($351 + $30 dealer).

At a recent gun show, they were $420+tax = about $441. So... I saved $60. Good deal, but not as amazing as 40% off sounds. 3 Bricks.

Sorry to hear you were not impressed with $60 saving, but you are not buying a $25,000 car where the 40% would have you getting $10,000 discount and that would make you fat and happy. Auto company have about same % mark up, so as I would say to some friends who whined about not getting bigger discount "You would complain if you were hung with a new rope".

I am NOT complaining one bit, and I thank S&W for the brake to our military! Also, Helene is great and exemplary of S&W's great customer service. Buy S&W! Thanks.

(I'm just saying that 40% sounds like 'close to half price' to alotta folks, and it wasn't exactly that).

Hey 40% is about 10% below average of what your local gunshop buys at, or about what someone like Zanders buys at from manufacture.

I disagree. I'm not caught up on 40%. That $60 was an additional 15% off your best price.

The 617 was $80 cheaper than the *very best* price I could find anywhere, and I'd been shopping for it for 2 years. Again that's 15% cheaper than the absolute cheapest.

It's not at all about 40% off. It's about 15% cheaper than every other place there is. That is awesome.
