Double A- Love the TRG series. I'm more a trg 22 kinda guy than 42... but those are outstanding rifles.

Mute- That thing is SWEET! You going to SCPRC?

Aziza- ?Stillen? or "Stiller"? action? Familiar with Jerry Stiller- wondering if it was a typo or an action I never heard of. Very nice rifle!

Not exactly *sniper* rifles, as I'm no sniper! But they are what I'd call my precision rifles..

Top to bottom:
Savage 10FP .223 - Bushnell Elite 3200 10x mil dot
Remington 722 22-250 rebarreled with Douglas premium air gauged barrel - old Nikon Monarch 6.5-20x fine crosshair
Remington 700VS 22-250 - new Nikon Monarch 4-16x side focus duplex
Savage 10FCP HS Precision .308 - Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20x side focus mil dot

Nice rifles Jus.I was thinking about the HS Precision Savage in .308 as well.I've shouldered the McMillan mod 10 but didn't like how it felt.

I don't think you can beat the Savage tactical rifles for accuracy right out of the box - excellent trigger, great barrel...not quite as smooth as the Rem, but if the Rem could hold groups like the Savage.

The HS Precision stock is very comfortable and feels very solid.. I like it better than the McMillan, plus it was cheaper!

My 700VS action is smooth as silk.. I don't mind the Savage actions though.. They work very well.. I couldn't tell you which of those were more accurate.. They are all capable of sub 1/2 MOA and I've seen it with all 4, but unfortunately thier owner can be quite the loose nut behind the trigger.. I've shot well with them all, but I am always trying to improve my technique and skill level is slowly growing..

Here is my Meager Entry. All in All it cost me $500 bucks..........being that I did most of the build by myself.

Turkish LR M98 Reciever with SR Barrel Threads
26" Douglas Premium XX Air Gauged Match barrel in .308 with Match chamber.
Custom Cut/Welded bolt Handle
Action Blueprinted
Low Swing Safety
Timney Trigger
Redfield 1pc Base
Leupold Turn in Rings
Mueller Tactical 8.5-25x50
Custom bottom metal with extended Release
Boyds Ace Varminter thumbhole.

More Filing, sanding, lapping, truing, and fitting than I'd like to remember.

It likes LC Match 168gr HPBT loads at 2,550fps.

Postal, thanks for the kind words. I just ordered a TRG 22 in 308 Win and look forward to it's arrival. If it shoots as well as the 42, I'll be a happy camper. I talked with Beretta they are expecting a few in from Finland in May.

Postal,

You have it right. The action was made by Jerry Stiller. He has built a number of action used by my dad for some long distance rifles, for paper and carbon based-lifeforms. The original thought was to have a magazine in it. Jerry offered him the single shot Predator at a good deal.

AGoetz-

great job on that Turk! Looks good. 2550 is pretty slow for 168's though- I push 175 smk's at 2720- I need to back off a little though from a sticky bolt- Maybe 44.5 gr varget instead of 44.9

Usually 168's are 2650 or bit faster, even with moderate loads. Your comeups will be severe at longer ranges, and probably hit transonic about 600-700 yds.

Depending on the max distance you shoot, it may or may not matter- but if you go to 600 or more, you should speed up that 168, or maybe switch to 175's, or go to 155gr scenars.
