I haven't had a 10/22 for a while, had a 16.4" stainless threaded barrel with a magpul back-packer stocked take-down but wanted something simpler. So that went down the road and I just picked up a simple stainless steel with a synthetic black stock version (Model 1256). I thought about getting the blue 10/22 with the wood stock but I like stainless steel barrels. Going to put a peep sight and a tuffer buffer on it and keep everything else OEM. Not interested in any 25-shot mags, just going with the 10-shot mags. Life is good.

JTJ not sure where in beautiful Arizona you are, but my club near Wilhoit ( Yavapai recreation league) runs several steel challenge matches a month with shooters of skill level from beginner to high speed low drag. Great place to shoot

I love the basic 10-22, but I really need an auto bolt release and Volquartsen hammer to achieve maximum enjoyment.

I don’t like fumbling with the factory bolt release and the VQ hammer cuts trigger pull in half. These don’t change the simple lines of the original gun. And is a modestly priced upgrade.

Did that long ago.
At the time didn't know you could buy a filler.
Broke the rear sight on a coon hunt in the creek.
Down in the holler.
Wear the .32 slug with pride. That is some righteous battle damage.

I love my ‘69 10/22. It has anodized receiver and has the Randy magic. Pics below-

I posted on another thread that this was about 25 years old but I think now I bought it in early 2000's at Walmart. So about 18 years old.
