1964 SA 22 Walnut?

I am sure this is walnut but all the Maple threads have me thinking, did they make maple guns this early? The pics don't do the fiddleback justice.

That's probably French walnut.......I have a blonde one like that, that I bought new in 1967...........

Just look at the grain structure, and see those dark pores running parallel with the rest of the grain?
Dead giveaway that's walnut!

You have me beat by a year.My first one was bought for me in 1968,as a 16th birthday present.Still have it..and a few others.
