Maybe a post like this would have been better. I answer any threads if I can help. If not I just go to the next new thread. I usually look at all the new posts, which causes a high viewing count. I check most every day. It could be the owners of the stock you are interested in are only checking every 2 or 3 days maybe only weekly. Give them a chance to respond. I always want an answer right now but realize things just don't work that way. My 2 cents.

Title:
Help Want Measurements on a Richard's Microfit Tac Driver stock

Does anyone own one of these they can take some measurements on for me?
I am wanting a measurement of the drop of the stock I don't want to buy one if it is more than 1 1/2 inches of drop.

Thanks for your help.

Confused!!

The Tack-Driver stock that you mention has a cheek piece that looks to be higher than the bore line. That's what you need for scoped use. The 10/22 has virtualy no recoil so it won't pivot in your shoulder, so the drop at the heel should have little or no consequence.

If you are looking for a stock just for bench use, Richards has many target styles and all can be inletted for the 10/22. Like this one.......

http://rifle-stocks.com/marksman.htm

And don't sweat the small stuff, all good things come in time.

Edited to say: I do not have a Tack-Driver stock, so I can't help with the measurements.

Good luck
Gary

Question richard's tackdriver

Recently (last month or so) someone posted pictures of a tackdriver that had the forend shorter than they had thought it should be, got a now one not too long after. Try a search for that and PM whoever posted it. they may not read every thread every day, but should notice a PM..couldn't hurt?

I'm the one who posted the "short" Tac Driver. I sent it back and heard from them today that the replacement ships this week. Sorry I can't help just now but I'll revisit this thread when it comes in.

G'day Guys
I have two of these stocks sitting in my gararge right now.. One inletted for a CZ452 (.22LR) and the other for a Sako L579 (.308). They are both fantastic to shoot off hand, as well as off bags on the bench. They do require a substantial ammount of work to finish them off though as they only come roughed out.. If the original poster wants some measurments, just let me know exactly what your after..

See ya

leeroy, if it's not too much trouble, I would like to know the drop of the stock. That is the measurement from the centerline of the barrel to the top of the butt pad.

Tackdriver Stock heal drop

G'day MKnarr

OK i measured both stocks and both are arround 1 1/4" (32mm) form centerline of bore to top of butt pad. But pads were installed by the makers so yours should be the same.. Cheek peice is however almost as high as the centerline of bore. Actualy if i remember rightly i had to slightly reduce the cheek peice to allow for cleaning rod to pass over. Not to sure if that will worry a 10/22 action as i've never seen one.
Anyway hope that helps.
If you have any other questions just let me know..

See ya

Thanks leeroy, I fooled around with their picture and came up with about 1 1/2 inches of drop. The factory laminated stock is at 1 1/2 inches so 1 1/4 will be fine for what I want. I'm not concerned about the height of the comb anyway since my scope has a 56mm objective and I need as much height as I can get. Besides, I can always rasp any extra off if I have to. Thank you for the measurement.

Oh. cleaning? I use weed eater line as the rifle is actually a 17HM2 now.

What kind of barrel and bolt set up did you go with? Have you gotten to accuracy test it yet?
