Phase 3 - His 22

Friends - please permit me to introduce the final phase: The Kidd Supergrade.

A few notes first. A humble thank you goes out to another RFC member - PhilF. Was first turned on to RFC by him... who happens to be my local gunsmith for the past 25 years or so. When I learned that he trusted his 22LR requirements to the likes of Randy @ CPC, Brimstone Gunworks, and Tony Kidd; ultimately sealed my fate. Saw Phil's threads on his logic, decision, and direction. Good enough for me.

In the recent past, went through a few stock Ruger rifles (Takedown, Carbine, Target, and a custom build (for my wife; known here as the Zombie killer)... that led to the Supergrade. A SG receiver/20" SS bull barrel, with a Brimstone BX trigger group (Kidd internals: plunger, spring, auto-bolt release, and extended wrapped mag release) held in by the countersunk threaded pins. Action housed in a Titan FDE 1022 stock. Sightmark Latitude 10-40X60mm BR scope held by Barrett 34mm zero gap ultra high rings.

Not the most exotic... Built for my needs... Job done.

Good choice. Don't know if this is your first Kidd SG or not, but if it is I'm betting you will be very pleased with the results. Just bring some decent ammo and a steady trigger finger, and the rifle will do the rest.

Well done BBQ Bandit, we've discussed the philosophy of removing enough of the variables to essentially make the rifle an ammunition testing machine, the only variables left are the shooter, the environment, and your level of concentration. Testing and discovering the ammunition your gun prefers is your next challenge and adventure. Next thing you need is a good front rest and some proper bags, then a lot of trigger time. Enjoy!

Nice rifle. I really like seeing what others have put together. I've put my latest rifle project on hold, since it keeps snowing.

I'm not Peyton, but that looks like a Stocky's Euro Supermatch stock in their Coffee color.
