Did anyone notice Santa Steve's 1710 in the TP?

https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums...do=ad&id=72632

It looks like a lot of nice upgrades for next to nothing? I wonder if he plans to make a habit of offering these?

I see unmodified 1710's listed for more. If only I was right-handed...Tom

Tom, a little bandsaw and belt sander work on that stock and you will be just fine!
Hopefully this is a harbinger of things to come, with Steve in charge!

Hi Alan, I guess that means you'll move the bolt handle to the other side for me?

Steve is putting a huge effort into this. I know he will be very successful with it.

Thanks Tom! Here I am trying to keep my eyes off that thing, and you mention it once more!

Very pretty rifle. I just don't like those open sights on the barrel. Other than that...I'd be very poor once more...

Same here, I've been looking at the 1710D HB with a 2 stage and saw that one, just don't care much for the sights.

It is too much like my 1712 stock wise, and the open sights kill it for me. I know they make the guns look nice, but they're worthless for me. Heck, I can barely see my fingers, much less open sights

What I'd love is a roll over cheek piece, standard weight barrel with no sights, and the two stage trigger. All wrapped in a nicely figured walnut stock with a more rounded fore end.

Someday...

Kenny

... you forgot to add "and all for less than a grand." You know, you could always take a rasp and belt sander to the forearm of your 1712 and call it good.

I've looked at that ad three times now and gone to the full size pic on the website. Tempting!

Nah...Last time I tried to "modify" an Anschutz, it got ugly:

Can't believe people got mad All I wanted was a small, light weight rifle that would shoot one hole groups all day long with bulk ammo. If I did my part of course....

Kenny

PS, You should go ahead and get that rifle Sophia. One can never have enough Annies... Just saying...

It was a simple fix that worked. The gun does not shoot high at long range now.

And for a moment I thought I wanted a Annie. Over 2G and the rifle has to be "tuned" for performance. And does it really have a plastic bolt nob?

Easy enough to remove them, and put in a filler slot and screws.
It's the only way to get a 1710 with a non heavy barrel.
