EGW mount for Win. 52...NOT!!

Very sad about my purchase of the EGW base for my Win. 52. It has a bad slant from receiver to muzzle. Elevation adjustments on my leupold 4-12 will not compensate for it. Also while they were at it, the could have made this to use the factory tapped holes on the receiver to firm it up.

Did you get the scope mount that you ordered: they come in three flavors (0 MOA, -20 MOA and +20 MOA)?

Which of the three flavors did you intend to order: (0 MOA, -20 MOA or +20 MOA)?

And in doing so they probably would have had to price it in the same realm as the Vianni.

I know that EGW offers a choice as far as the mounts for the 52's.....different moa for different barrels. If I remember correctly the tapered barrels (.750 at muzzle) required a -20 moa mount. This is what is on mine and it is perfect. Is it possible you might have ordered the incorrect mount??

If that is the +20 MOA base then, as albinpdx noted, you are 40 MOA off from what EGW recommends.
What is the D2516 number that you listed? EGW product numbers are 42700, 42701 & 42702 for the Win 52 bases.

I don't think the D2516 is not anything to do with this. There is the #42702 also in the paperwork. It says for "Winchester 52 Target , Kimber 82G, Anschutz 64" Pretty sure I need the -20 , not the 20. some of you have said that it fits good , so looks like I need to re-order. Thanks

EGW is very responsive to their customers and prospective customers. Give them a nice friendly call....sounds like you either ordered or received an MOA mount.

I bought the 0 MOA for mine (52B, heavy barrel) - replaced the rear block with it - tapped holes fit perfectly - shot perfectly as well, until I put it back into original condition.

I took that to mean the ones on the left rear side of the receiver for the peep sight.

I took that to mean the aft block, as in my photo, since I NEARLY wrote the same...

I have an H&R Model 12 as well as several pre-A Model 52 Winchesters.

I know the mount will work on the H&R but will they work on the pre-A 52's? I'd really like to try one on one of my slow lock target models.

Thanks to SailDesign for posting the picture of his 52 with the mount on it.

I just received an EGW yesterday. Winchester 52 pre A, .75" at the crown and have the same issue. The mount I received was a -20. I know it's not the right thing to do but I placed a 1mm aluminum shim between my scope and the bottom of the front mount and that solved the problem.
I will contact Geo at EGW on Monday about this issue. He has been very helpful.

I have the same mount that Sail Design shows on his 52B installed on my 52D. Fits isn't the correct word, it looks like it GREW there ! I've been working as a gunsmith for over 20 years now & NEVER had any mfgr's. mount fit as well as this one does.
Every mfgr. should produce such fine equipment. The Hawke 4-12 AO scope will be installed tomorrow, ran out of time yesterday & worked a gun show today.
