I mean, it kinda sorta does look a little like a front sight for something, if I squint just right.

Here's the question: am I curious enough to find out?

linky thingy

I would call Numrich and ask that question if their web page doesn't explain it.

The picture is clearly a firing pin but anytime you order from Numrich you can expect to get the unexpected.

Well, at least the picture is of an actual Ruger gun part.

Unlike Carolyn McCarthy (rest her soul ) with her "shoulder thing that goes up" statement.

I only try Numrich if I have ABSOLUTELY no other choice because once in a while they do get it right. I even tried to help them fix their pictures once but they just got confused.

I live about a half-hour drive from Numrich, and when I needed a part, I would go to their walk-in parts counter and order it either out of the desk catalog or by telling the guy what I needed and having him look it up on his computer. When they brought the part in from the warehouse, I could look at it and see if it was the right thing. Doing this, I never paid shipping and never had a problem.

A few years ago, they closed their walk-in parts counter, and now I have to order online like everybody else. I feel your pain.

Just going from memory, but it kinda looks like a 10/22 firing pin.

That's a firing pin for a Ruger MK I, II pistol or an AMT Lightning pistol.
Such a great copy of a Ruger that SR&Co. filed a "Cease & Desist"order. Same thing happened with the AMT Lightning rifle, too close to a 10-22 for Ruger's liking !

Ruger sure didnít like people copying there designs. At the time, the 10-22 was over 20 years old.
Ruger doesnít mind copying other folks designs like the KelTec 380.

That is an efficient design. You can use the same part for two purposes.
