Grooming During Social Distancing

Well, I generally like to be clean shaven when I go out and about. I shaved for a video conference on Tuesday but I'm at day 5 now and feeling bristly with no plan to shave for at least a few more days. Anybody else change their grooming routine? The longer my hair grows without the barber shops open, the harder it is to comb, and the more tempted I am to buzz it all off myself

My issue is going to a barber shop.

Too close of contact.

Hair chopper shops are closed under orders. My beard is done by me but the hair is gonna be an issue. 70 yr old hippy neighbor has been letting his gray/white hair n beard grow for 2 yrs.. He looks like an old hag with a beard!

I have not been in a barber shop in several years, my wife just gives me a buzz cut every 10 days or so.

haircuts and beards....easy, this not so much...

being an old, increasingly unflexible old goat I have gone to a local joint to get pedicures, nothing fancy, just nails cut. Well I was "due" about 3 weeks ago, and I am starting on some good "hoofs". This could turn into a real problem shortly.

I'm so old no one cares what I look like plus I'm just hanging around the house watching the wind blow and I'm just letting it grow. My grand daughter is a licensed beautician and cuts our hair but she's out of business until the guv decides otherwise. One of these days when she decides it's safe to come around grandpa and grandma without bringing something that could end our life she will show up and clean us up.

Grooming

I went into hospital for total knee replacement the week before all the shelter in place stuff started. Sheltered in place in hospital for six days before coming home. I am having home health physical therapy and I don't worry about grooming for therapist and have been taking spit baths rather than go to the trouble of wrapping the knee for a shower. Yesterday, though, I was starting to feel really grunchy so shaved, had my wife give me a short haircut and took a good shower. Really feel better. I can shave myself, my wife can cut my hair and I can cut my finger nails. Toe nails are going to be a different story. I cannot reach them and they grow so thick that wife won't try them so I don't what I am going to do about those. We live very close to the Mexican border and usually make a trip across about every six weeks or so for pedicures, haircuts and purchase of marginally otc meds. Don't know if the border will reopen by the time nail situation is desperate but I doubt it. They say you can cross for medical purposes. Would toenails cutting into adjoining toes be considered a medical purpose?

Thanks to my ancestor genes there is no danger of that for me so far but your statement is funny.

Nope. My wife has cut my hair since the 80s. She,s now working from home "indefinitely" until this blows over so she has even more time to chase me with scissors. I shave daily during the week and don't see any reason to change my routine unless I find some Covids hiding on my razor.

Poor family, so my mom cut my hair until age of 12 then my sister took over the job. My girlfriend took that over, and now that she is my wife still has the duty.

Work in wild and wooly Alaska, my physical appearance is dictated by what my wife feels is appropriate for church. Needless to say most of my life looks like grzzly Adams.

Barber shops are closed down for this virus.
Not worried about the hair. Could reach around and grab it mid-spine back in '74. Nowadays, I just have the barber use a #3 guard, rake the whole head, and call it good.
Hate the chore of shaving, but hate the beard worse, so the balance is about 4 days without shaving, maybe 5. Wish I could afford permanent hair removal on the face.
I'm about due at the moment, but everything is good. We can all go back to our routines in another month or so.

Roger
