I picked up a nice 140K. I am anxious to take it out and see what it will do. Supposed to be a mild weekend here in Michigan.

I got one - But!

Well I traded two beat up Remington model 12 pump .22s for it. When I got it home under better light it wasn't much of a deal. Stock was cut for a peep sight as well as the missing mag which I knew. Now on the look out for an uncut 140K stock and several others. It was the first and only 140KI I have seen.

Wink Well then...

Well then I guess I should feel lucky as I have 2 140K's!!! One bought complete and unaltered and the other bought a piece at a time. Got the barreled receiver off of GunBroker and almost all of the rest of the parts off of eBay. Relined the cobbled together 140 to 17 Mach2 and it is a shooter. Was planning on relining the complete and unaltered 140, but when I got it in my hands I thought it was too nice to alter, hence the cobbled together one. The 140 that I bought complete hasn't even been shot, well it hasn't been shot by me!!! Well that is what happens when you get bitten by the Mossbergitus bug!!!
ddem if that 140 shoots as well as my relined 140... you will be absolutely loving it!!!
God Bless, Frank.

140k's must have been popular in the Pocono Mts. I have picked up 4 of them over here. Light weight with a scope , the two I have running are really great shooters. #3 is torn down to be rust blued if I ever get around to it. #4 I bought knowing the bolt is stuck in it. Maybe its all the squirrel woods we have around here that made them so popular. Stay safe, Jim

I actually found this at my local Cabelaís. I am not normally impressed with their used gun prices but I am a little more tolerant when itís a nice old Mossberg.

Well, I take the above comment back. I ran across a Hawthorne version of the 140 over the weekend. But I didn't pick it up as I had my eyes on something else. Maybe it will be at the next show, we will see.

I borrowed a pic's from choppermitt's post back in 2014. It has a different style trigger guard, stock and front sight, of course it was missing the hard to come by S121 sight hood.

Nice rifles.

You donít run across them that often around here, in great condition.

Most around here look like they were rode hard and put away wet.

I have handled 2 140K in my life. Dad taught me to shoot with one 45 years ago. That one is still at the family farm as I gave it to my nephew. I recently bought the second one off GB. It looks better in hand than the pictures from the listing. I cleaned it and lubed it then mounted a small scope on it. Sighted it with a magnetic sighting dealie and shot this at 100yds. Total of 6 shots, last 4 on the gong.

Nice find. As the others said you don't see these often. The tube feed 146 are more common. I was lucky to find a nice one also back in 2012.
