I'm curious, how many here own or shoot SSs. What kind? Also, what is the average age of the SS shooter? At 70 the rock and roll is loosing it's draw.

Any firearm can be single shot if you only load one round at a time.

I have an old anschutz 64 match that is a single shot. its great. i have some single shot adapters for some of my other bolt action stuff: anschutz, CZ, ect. I am in my early 40s. most of these guys who are more interested in emptying 30 round magazines cant hit the ground with their hat....

I usually use a single-shot adapter in my rimfire rifles when shooting from a bench.

I always load single shot when shooting from a bench in any match that isn't timed, even if the rifle doesn't have an adapter.

I have two dedicated single shots, an 1885 and a Ruger No.1. Both of my bolt-actions have single shot adapters that never leave them. The Win52 has no mag, just the adapter.

Started shooting muzzle loaders in my 20's, got my first Ruger #1 .223 in my 30's, first Stevens Favorite in my 40's, several Martini's in my 50's...and now I'm almost 64 and have single shot trays for most of my bolt actions and 5 round mags for the semi-autos so I can comfortably bench rest them.

Mag dumps were fun back in the day. I leave that for the young-uns now. Breathe, press, pew, observe, repeat

At 72 I've been accumulating too long. Winchester 52D, Winchester 1885 low wall, 2 Remington 40x's, Steven 44 target. Just sold a Winchester 67a and an Anschutz 1413. All .22 rimfires.

Oh yeah, 4 muzzleloaders (.32 to .50), and a 1883 trapdoor.

Not to mention 5 target airguns.

Wow, time to sell some more!

(Does a double shotgun count as two single shots?)
