Liar?

As things turned out I did order, and am still waiting for, the Rock River Arms National Match A4 Rifle, LAR-22 "black rifle". So far, no-go on the Glock 44 in .22lr, because no high capacity magazines have been announced, yet. For no specific reason(s) I haven't gone for a Sig P226, at least not yet.

It was sort of planned (although I didn't mention it in my post #22), because it had been a wish since early 2019, only I didn't know what exactly would fulfill the wish... That is until I discovered and purchased a NIB (but discontinued in 1988) Weatherby XXII tube-fed semi-auto .22lr rifle, this one made by Howa. I thought this beauty had fully satisfied my desire for a high-end, glossy finished, "high-class 22 rifle". The only thing is, I've seen and know where to get the XXII bolt-action "mate to it", also NIB (but made by Anschutz), but I'm having a very difficult time justifying it's insane price tag!

So, buying the RRA NM AR-22 AND the Weatherby XXII was bad and expensive enough, but then I found a refurbished High Standard "Clone" (by Stoeger), and couldn't resist. Heck, I wasn't even looking for such an animal!

So much for my list staying shorter this year!!!

I was looking for something else when I spotted this in the back of the case at the LGS. Price was way too good to pass up. 45LC/410 barrel, TC contender ... Now if I can find a 22LR barrel for it on a trade. Or it will turn into trading material.

Yesterday I picked up a Ruger Single-Six - OM, 1963 production, convertible (.22LR cylinder only, but I'll correct that). A previous owner had it "made safe" with the transfer bar conversion, but it still has the half-cock, so barely acceptable. As I have my father's 1968 OMSS that is still in factory condition, the hybrid will eventually go to a friend [he doesn't know it yet] - he is on a fixed income but wants an OM SS convertible like his grandfather's that he remembers fondly, so....

At the same time I picked up a sporterized Enfield No4 rifle (shortened barrel & stock, rubber buttpad, different iron sights, etc) - I liked a friend's Jungly (Enfield No5 jungle carbine), but this will be more comfortable to shoot. The barrel is 21 1/2" - original was 25".*

* Now I need an untouched No4... but before that I'll pick up a Ruger SP101 (3"barrel) in .327Fed. Yes, it's new - but I need a companion for my Henry carbine (.327Fed/.32 H&R) - also new, but a lever-gun.

The first two were put on layaway in November last year, so they don't really count.

However - so much for that Ruger!

First Crossroads gun show of the year... and I end up with this little thing.

S&W model 632 (.327 Fed, 3" barrel)!

My AT-ONE 24"er has taken almost 30 squirrels out of the 61 terminated this winter. I'm chomping @ the bit for winter to recede to shoot beyond 20 yds.. The bore looks quite nice in the scope IMA.

I'm saving any future firearms funds for a Dodge Hellcat instead!

This year I already bought a gift, the inertial semiautomatic device Beretta Bellmonte I Synthetics, this is a modernized version of the well-proven Beretta ES 100 shotgun. I didnít have enough cash and I lent a kenosha payday loan. And here is my long-awaited gift in my hands.

I picked up a used 9mm Tanfoglio Witness Elite Match in January and couldnít be happier with it. Light, crisp single action only trigger and fantastic accuracy. I changed the front sight to fiber optic and put on some new copper gun works grips. It shoots lights out and makes me feel like a rock star lol.

Then last month I found my budget 12ga O/U. Been shopping for a few months and this one finally became available. Itís a CZ Woodcock G2 made by Huglu (Turkish). It has ejectors and has been really fun to shoot.

I picked up this old Stevens Favorite a few weeks ago. Cleaned it up and it shoots... okay. I don't really care because it's just a joy to use even if it isn't very accurate.

I actually wasn't planning on buying anything..........then a 40XB with a Unertl 24X found me. Then another 52D found me. Some people have a soft spot for stray dogs, I have a soft spot for stray 22 rifles. I hope a Winchester 75 Sporter doesn't finde me.

Id really like to have one of those expensive air guns but could never justify the coast of $2000 and over !400 for tank and pump to air it.

Toss up here. Back and forth between a new turkey shotgun, and a 10-22 mannlicher. Pondering the question with a bourbon.
