Just now found THIS thread about Rugers LVTs.

Very interesting to me.
Because i think i have one. Or kinda somewhat sorta ..

Mines a ruger factory receiver.
With a GM 28inch tapered barrel,
Cut back to 20 inches by Randy at cpc.
And threaded into the receiver.

Aluminium trigger housing worked over by Randy.
And of course a Randy bolt.

She is an excellent shooter.

So i think i have a superstock ?

Mine has the most plain vanilla looking stick of wood I've ever seen.
But it works fine.

Just enjoyed the LVT thread.
And it dawned on me, ?
Hey.. i think i have one ?..

I used the sticky to see if my rifle met the specifications:

Is there something that you think wouldn't meet the definition?

Actually I think buckweet has been around for a while. Either that or a very interesting and similar name.

It may interest you that the Ruger LVT WAS inspired by what we were doing in SuperStock a few years back. We know this by what Ruger insiders have told us!!

When the guys here built my African Rose Ruger volunteered to do the stock for free if they supplied the wood. The group sent them a bubinga blank (bubinga is a HUGE African Rosewood tree that is unbelievably dense and heavy) and Ruger carved 2 stocks and finished them for fee. They knew exactly what we were doing here in SuperStock and that was their way of contributing.

African Rose has a 19" GMHT contributed by Green Mountain (maybe because I had a little to do with them producing that design). It looks like a fancier version of the LVT in fact.

Pretty sure I'm not . She's awfully skinny out front.
The balance is spot on.
For a woods rifle, she's one of my best.

We have stepped back on that one a tiny amount. Long after we had 19" GMHT barrels some of us found a diameter up to .763" or so. since they were all over our forum and in the games the decision was made to allow SLIGHT variances on the .750" rule. The 19" GMHT is now okay in both SuperStock and SuperSport.

In truth all this about barrel diameters are like our way of dealing with game targets. In other words it is about honesty and trust. With only one problem in the past if someone says they shoot a .5" group at 100 yards we believe them (I have shot a couple). If someone trims a barrel back and they say it is within our rules that is all we need. The .750" rule was never about a few thousandths of an inch. It was about keeping the .920 barrels out. That was Ultimate Forum's territory and to get this forum we had to stay away from there. Later there was a strong enough demand to justify adding SuperSport to help out the folks that wanted a varmint style rifle but not an Ultimate.

Anyway cut your barrel and tell us about it buckweet!!

There is my LVT.. and my super stock carbine.
Both are excellent shooting rifles.
Of course, they have made the trip to Randy at CPC.
My LVT was a 28 GM barrel.
Randy re - chambered.and cut back to 20".
Threaded it into the receiver.
The carbine I've had most of my life.
Randy sure woke that barrel up.
