spare parts = ssh?

having collected the major components from the classified here on rfc...and adding in a few leftovers from previous builds, then topping it off with a couple new parts, i think i have come up with a supersport heavy build

i was lucky enough to start with one of the free uppers that f.j. feddersen gave away (very generous...cant thank you enough)

ruger target model stock (rfc classifieds)

metal trigger group (rfc classifieds)

20" gm barrel with very minor pitting (rfc classifieds)
vq hp action kit, bolt release, and safety
bsa sweet scope
bastion mag release
jwh bolt/handle/buffer
ruger pins, screws, and v-block

and a splash of bronzy osbourne duracoat with a satin finish

i am really happy with the results...

Looks good.

But you won't be able to sneak that one out of the house, claiming you've had it for a long time.

Excellent! My new one is very much a spares and RFC Classifieds build too! I have less than $200 in the whole rifle as far as out of pocket recently.

While I may never paint a rifle like you have it is very interesting! Will be interested to see how it shoots. One thing to remember is that if we have learned anything here it is that building one is great but the accuracy often comes in the tuning later...

That is the really fun and rewarding part for many of us that want the thing to shoot it's best. Besides you get to shoot it...a lot! Looking forward to seeing this rifle as things develop.

thanks Vincent. This is the first rifle i have put a scope on, so it will definitely be a learning process.

I guess the most important thing to remember with these SuperStock and SuperSport rifles is that even if things do not go great at first (these days they actually usually do if you follow one of our "formulas" in the build) it is FUN to shoot these rifles. Maybe more fun than any other rifle I have.

Most of these rifles shoot so well that for many people the thing shoots so well they never mess with it.

Then there is us crazies that are not happy until we wring every 1/10th MOA in them out of the rifle and then still go on shooting looking for just that little bit more! It can kind of become a passion to do it and that can be a lot of fun it self. THAT is why we often end up with not just 1 but 4 or 5 of them!!
