Heard back from Boyd's today, there was a problem with the stock and they sent it back to be redone, they've taken steps to make it up to me and I thanked them for letting me know and doing what they can to make it right.

Update, received two phone calls from Boyd's yesterday, one morning and one afternoon, responding to my preveious calls to them (about two weeks ago), hey they're trying to catch up and I give them credit for that.

Sure do, I got the Classic, TH's and me don't get along, arrived today, installed a few minutes ago. Magazine well will likely need a bit of work, one of my three magazines will not seat without a pretty solid bump. You MUST use the rear screw included with the stock, or at least on mine I had to, otherwise a good looking and well finished stock.

Hi GMD

You may want to delay the mag well mods till you've shot it a bit. At first my Classic was so tight the mags almost had to be pried out. After 2-3 range sessions it is now firm but easily removed.

I'm thinking the Boyd Stocks are not quite the "drop-in" they infer. I believe they say some "fitting may be required" on their website.

I had to send a 455 Evolution back to CZ-USA due to poor stock fit. Magazines would not properly seat (fell out when firing) and groups were poor. If CZ is having problems installing Boyd stocks I'm sure the owner will too.

I've always been a little suspect of "drop-in" parts. But I'm probably a little paranoid.

The pics of the stocks are great though! Hope you get the bugs worked out.

A little healthy skeptisism is a good thing, cuts down on disappointments.

Nice looking rig! That has pushed me off the fence. I see an A17 in the near future. Thanks for the pics.

They just anounced the A22 in .22wmr, doubt it will shoot better than my CZ 512 but lots of Savage fans should be happy, I like the A17 so far, hoping the Boyds will prove a bit more stable than the Rubbermaid stock it came in.

My buddy received his A17 stock from Boyds and we're both disappointed with it, after the options he chose and shipping it was almost $200.00 and it looks like shiz.

He ordered the Zombie Green and the green is washed out looking, nowhere near as bright and saturated as the pictures on their website or on Google image search.
It also has a run in the clear coat with a thumb print on the right side just above the and forward of the trigger.
QC was on vacation that day I guess?

I have his rifle and stock because I'm going to bed it and install the DIP rail and scope so I'm going to strip their garbage clear off, sand the **** out it because their finishing sanding is lackluster at best then I'm going to redye it for him and have my buddy who owns a bodyshop urethane clear it for me.

On the hunt for Zombie green stain/dye.

Well...I acquired an A17 about a month ago and can't wait to get after some sage rats with it!

My first inclination is to pick up a thumbhole Boyd's stock for it as I'm not a huge fan of the stock one.

I love thumbhole stocks, but have never owned a Boyd's. After all the positive reviews I've read about the stocks (mostly) and the service, I'm in!

Man...it's hard to choose a color though! They sure make an awful lot of good looking choices!
