I saw that email yesterday as well. Good on Boyds for answering the call for a better stock! The thumbhole looks pretty slick, but a classic might be nice as well! I'm waiting to see if Savage will start offering rifles fitted with them direct from the factory, especially the left-hand versions!

Here's the image from the email (I added the text for my article):

I picked ordered a Prairie Hunter. I like thumb hole stocks, but the last few I have bought from Boyds required a lot of reshaping to around the grip and thumb hole to fit me correctly.

Eric
I ordered mine last night, same color and style as above ^^

I know most guys here are to snooty to use thumb hole stocks but I like them as much as traditional stocks and they work dandy for me since 99% of my shooting is on the bench at paper or varmits.
I also dropped coin on a Vortex Diamondback HP 4-16x42mm w/BDC, DNZ Products Game Reaper Savage A17 Scope Mount 1" Medium Black Aluminum and 2 extra magazines.

I like them on the bench but HATE to carry them in the field. Not snooty. Just facts.

Not a big fan of the thumbhole even for the bench. I'm forced to wear earplugs as apposed to the muffs because they hit the stock as it does not drop like a conventional stock.

Ordered a Classic in Forest Camo as soon as I saw it available, after seeing CaveDwellers video.

I definitely want one (the Classic), BUT first I want some feedback on how they fit. How well do the action screws line up? How much cutting/sanding has to be done to get the magazine to fit right? How well centered is the barrel in the stock? Nit pickin' ain't I?

Also, according to Cavedwellers test firing, the CCI 17gr. TNT ammo is the most accurate in the A17.

I ordered one in classic with laser engraving in nutmeg. Fell in love with the one cave dweller had made up. Can't wait to glass bed it and take it to the range

I'm old and impatient. I ordered one, Classic style, in pepper color. Being impatient also got me 3 B-mags which are most useful as tomato stakes in the garden.
