Well, Chad, they may not be Winchester 52s, but you sure have some spiffy looking 10/22s!

They don't have anything on your gorgeous 52. It really is breathtaking!

Hey Doug I believe you are right about shooting that beautiful 52. If I where lucky enough to own something like your rifle it would be shot the first time I could get at the task . Just simply one of the finest .22's I've ever seen on here, maybe the prettiest. Thanks for having it made and posting the pics on here. OOOOOOutstanding in every way

Once again...

I could not help myself. I had to go through this thread again. I am not sure anything can be said that has not already been but WOW!!

I am such a sucker for blue steel, find wood (normally say walnut but lately I have seen some nice stocks in other woods), and ribbon checkering. This rifle goes well beyond that in so many ways both large and small details.

I know it is not rimfire Doug but being the Mod here I cheat once in a while. Do you have any pictures of the Hornet rifle to show us too?

I will never own anything like this but I can admire

So, I check this thread and find my pics are gone!?! I logged onto Photobuckert and my account is still there and there are pics in some if my other threads here, so I have no idea what he issue is. But I'm going to try re-posting the Winchester 52 pics here again and hope it works. (And, Vince, I'm not sure which Hornet you're referring to -- The CZ527 FS, maybe?)

Doug, that is just about the most beautiful .22 sporter I've ever seen. My hat is off to you, sir. Thank you for posting the pics again.

That is truly a classic American sporter. I am very happy to see there are people still out there turning out quality custom work like that, and I hope it serves as encouragement to others to tackle similar projects. There are plenty of old Model 52s, M1/M2 Springfields, and Brnos, and Mauser rimfires which have already been modified beyond collector status in the past, can be picked up fairly reasonably (especially the old Brnos), and which are just begging for such a transformation into a functional work of art such as you have. Magnificent.

My LGS has (or had) a very nice 52C target rifle with sights for 1000. If I was younger, I'd think about buying it,and doing a similar project.

That is absolutely beautiful, flawless in every detail.
The Bible tells us not to covet our neighbors wife, I hope it don't spill over to his rifle, if it does, I'm sinning.
