I'm part of the Underdog club.
Mossberg 42MC, and the vintage 3-9 Bushnell has been replaced with a 4-14 Nikon Buckmaster.
Gun shoots those CCI's as well as my Mossberg 35 Target does off a bench, but I still can't hit the broadside of a barn while standing

Basic CZ Trainer

This maybe a textbook starter rig. Cheaper than Dirt had it for $350, free ship. I can't find any real flaws, everything is solid and smooth enough. There was next to no trigger creep and removing the adjusting nut took the pull down to 2.25lbs. For now there's a $210 Hawke 6 X 24 mil-dot scope sitting atop.

Using Remington/Eley Club Match it shot 5/8" 5 shot groups at 50yds. My other 22, a Savage MarkII, shoots 7/8" groups for comparison. I love the hogback stock. (edit: 2 weeks later I'm happy to report 5/8" average groups in calm wind conditions.)

My 1st match is tomorrow over at Chattanooga (June 22).

Hey, I have one of those! I rigged it up with an old Tasco 8-32x40 with a target dot. This scope used to be on my silhouette gun when I got started back in 1996. The scope barely clears the rear sight and barrel, but it works fine. This is just the setup for bench testing now, I plan to use this gun with just the irons.

Here she is:

And it shoots. Here are today's best two groups, using an old lot of Federal Gold Medal Match 900B:

What's more, he can shoot them darned well. In fact, he had a third one - a left hander with a stock similar to the top rifle - on the range Wednesday showing off.

Would you mind telling us how you made the homemade "Fake Pharr" stock?

I started off with a CZ Ultra Lux stock & converted it to fit a left-hand American. I then built it up with Bondo & Bondo Glass mixed with a product that model airplaner's use called 3M Glass Bubbles. This reduces the weight and gives it more the feel of wood. I then sanded it to the shape I wanted & painted. I do not have any pictures of this stock in progress, but below is a link to pictures of a Varmint stock I did a couple of years ago. This will give you a idea of the process. On the Varmint stock I did a lot of drilling so that it would make Hunter Class weight.
