I'm not sure this rifle is in keeping with the spirt of this tread, because I didn't build/modify it.

Mine came in a box from Kidd.

So Kidd Supergrade with the only thing left from Ruger is the magazine.

If it's not a Super Sport Heavy, I'll delete the post.

This rifle is PERFECT for this Forum. DSP stock with a VQ Running Boar barrels (I have always want to build a rifle with a barrel like this).

I has a feeling this is going to be a very accurate rifle. This is going to be fun.

This rifle is one of those ones that blur the line between here and Ultimate but it is very welcome here!! It fits in if you want it to fit in.

8 yr old Rem 597-17HMR Super Sport Heavy w Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40 SF…all original, and never blown up. Its been recalled because of OOBs and Rem has replaced other owner's barrels with a 22Mag barrel on Remington's dime.

Ex jarhead shooter is my stepbro who really liked the hummer.

btw that was my stepbro, brother USMC, shooting my hummer for the first time.

Finished my VQ 22 barrel install into the 597 receiver with much filing of receiver to get er done. Stock was a noodle barrel carrier so some serious sanding got this fatty fitted into its new home. Now we're looking for a day to play.

Very nice Al. You ought to start it's own Thread in the forum. Tell us all about it and update it when you modify and/or shoot it.

and I agree with Vincent, a thread describing what all was done to get it put together and showing how well it works would be nice

Well, since I built it I may as well post it. This one will complete the set for me. I will now have a Sporter and LVT Super Stock and with this one I will have a Super Sport. I was going to sell the stock after I took it off my LVT for a DSP stock but I really liked it so I created this one.
The stock is an old walnut carbine I did some recreating on. Tuned the receiver and accurized the bolt. Pulled the trigger down to 2lbs and used some Tactical Inc accessories including the flash hider. It has a Whistling Pig 18.5" barrel and a tactical scope mount. I am planning on putting a Mueller 8.5x25x44 scope on it. (I love Mueller scopes). Then I just need to find time to get to the range and post some targets.

I think I remember that stock. That rifle will be a nice addition to SuperSport. Since muzzle brakes are not legal in SuperStock this is a perfect for SuperSport.

Looking forward to seeing this one shoot.

I also share your attraction to Muellers. I think I have 5 APVs. I would like to get one like yours or the 8-32X.

Thank you Sir Vincent for the welcome to SS. I am toying with the idea of putting an 8x32 on my Sporter 20" GM barreled one (100yd gun) and putting the 24x on this one. I made the mistake... well not a mistake but purchased other supposedly equal or comparable scopes and found that the Mueller is just better.... nicer...easier... I just like them better. I am toying with selling off all my others and buying all Muellers. I too cannot wait to get to the range. I will post once I do... Thanks again.
