So I paid $150 for this will I be reimbursed accordingly?

Kidding I've never seen this ammo before.

Hope some one runs a few over a chrono, should be outstanding. I think that a good bolt gun wouldn't have a problem digesting those. Thoughts from others???

I have a few bricks, but ..

I purchased it during the last two months from Walmart, so I think I'm OK.

I'll check though when I get home !

M 22

Just got off the phone with Winchester. They will be sending a shipping company to pick up my M 22 on Friday. I have about three 500 bricks (one was open and I shot about 100) They said that I will reimbursed $50 per brick. They told me to box the ammo and write some stuff on the box and that the shipping company would have a label. Hope things go as smoothly as the phone call went!

Thanks for the heads up warning.

I got a 1000 round brick from Bass Pro early in November. When the fella came out of the back (truck was unloaded) with several of those bricks, we were stunned. Three of us got one each.

Fortunately mine are okay. Whew, that was a scare. The stuff is too hard to find, I got the mother lode with that.

Again, thanks for heads up.

I have 2 500 rnd boxes of this, but not those lot numbers. However, many don't fit in the cylinders of wheel guns. Not a problem in auto's so far. When I heard of this, I tried them on my single six and found several rounds that would not fit in the cylinder.

If it was me, I would see about getting new ammo. it may take you months to replace that M-22.

For me, I would rather have the ammo than the money the way things are going.

The brass case is the weak link. A ruptured case from a double charge is going to do ugly things to the rifle. Think cutting torch thoughts.

I called today and they won't replace the ammo. They're going to send a check when they receive it. Ups is picking up my 1000 rounds tomorrow.

Interesting. I purchased 2000 rounds in June or July. Shot the last of them about a month ago. I had no problems. Shot them all in my 10/22, didn't notice anything unusual.

Recall

There's no doubt in my mind that the defective product will be replaced with
a " doubly checked" fresh batch. This is not a cosmetic defect, but a potential life threatening issue. Note, that Winchester will pay to have the material returned to them. As with any item that is returned to a manufacturer, it is important that a note with the name , address, phone number, and email address of the sender, be included in the note.

The following is from the actual recall notice:

To determine if your ammunition is subject to this notice, review the Symbol Number and Lot Number. If it is Symbol Number S22LRT with a Lot Number containing GD42L or GD52L immediately discontinue use and contact Winchester toll-free at 866-423-5224 or visit http://www.winchester.com/Product-Se...ontact-Us.aspx for free UPS pick-up of the recalled ammunition.

If you have any questions concerning this 22 Long Rifle rimfire ammunition recall please call toll-free 866-423-5224, write to Winchester (600 Powder Mill Road, East Alton, IL 62024 Attn: S22LRT Recall), or contact Winchester Customer Support online.
