Takedowns are a fairly hot item right now...that being said most gun shops know this and are not likely to be dropping the price anytime soon. If you see the particular TD you want and the price is between 350.00 -370.00 you may want to scoop it up. I saw a camo TD in a gun shop today and the price was $479.00??? I shook my head and laughed you have GOT to be kidding me?

Watch takedowns on gun broker and other sellers on the net, this will give you a general idea of what this rifle is selling for. Be warned that some GB prices are crazy.

For what its worth....good luck!

Nice job on the wood stock!

Per OP, I paid $289 about three months ago. Was shopping for a carbine model for some plinking fun. LGS had none of these but 8 Takedowns. Just to soothe my disappointment, they sold me the TD for th carbine price.

I couldn't be happier. Great little rifle...added an inexpensive red dot (Sightmaster, I think...$40 from Academy)...and now NO can or plastic water bottle is safe!

Local to me (Ft Bragg, NC) they are currently running:
Stainless: 329
All Black: 349-359.

The stainless has been pretty steady at this price since at least OCT of last year when I bought mine.

Had a choice between a TD and Mannlicher, each priced at $339. Glad I picked the prettier one and better shooter. Plus who wants a two-piece gun except if you need a backpack? When I looked at the TD, I didn't care for the plastic stock nor the misalignment of barrel and receiver.
