I think you got it right, TLARbb..

The green box remington is okay, the remington/eley would have been too pricey.

Finally got a qualifying target out of that old stash of Fed 750 bulk using the CZ 452 FS. It's not great but there is one group that was quite good. One was lousy and two were just fair.

With regard to that Remington Target I was asking about, it's probably a mute point anyway given that it is so hard to find any ammo these days.

Got you covered, TLARbb

I posted your results with your previous scores back in post #3 of this thread.

That's decent shooting for that old Fed ammo ...you shoot 'em, we'll post 'em !!

Back in early 70s, they just called the green box "Standard Velocity" and not Target. I used it in my first ever prone competition (and only) to shoot a 200 7x score at 100 yds with the 540x and metallic sights.

I'm not sure I've got the distinction on the Remington "Target" or "Target Standard" correct in my mind. If I find some of either I will just shoot it and submit and let the moderator determine if it is legitimate or not.

That probably won't happen as I can't find any of it anyway.

Eyeballing that pile, & taking into account flattened empty bricks, I come up with 60 to 75 bricks minimum, could that be right?

Got ya posted, Clem

Nice job with the Aguila... That always gave me pretty mixed results, but you're looking good there!

not the most consistent stuff in the world. I shot the .27 first and it fell off after that. while the old S/A doesn't even come close to my CZ's groups with good ammo, it doesn't fall off with the cheap stuff as much as my CZ does. all in all it seems to like a dirty bore and doesn't object to cheap ammo. itll never make the zee row list, but it sure a lot of fun when you can find some decently priced .22. interestingly enough my good brick of AE5022 was all over the place. I was trying for 3 zee row with the CZ, but my awesome lots of eley weren't acting right. perhaps all the humidity. so this was all I was able to accomplish. aint .22s grand?

yep, .22's are something else, for sure!!

I think I've found at least 350 ways to screw up a good group, but I keep trying

2 weeks ago I shot a personal best at 50 yds, two days ago with the same ammo and rifle, couldn't come close to that at 25 yds! ..go figure!! Big difference is that it was 15 degrees hotter and humid this week.

Going to get back to basics here tomorrow, CCI-SV and Wolf MT just to see if I remember how to shoot

Good shooting with the Aguila, tho.. all I have handy of that is their rifle match, pistol match and target... none of which are on the approved list - they HAVE shot reasonably well in the past, maybe a little streaky at times...

exactly what happened to me. its the same ammo that was shooting mid .2s at 50y weeks ago. and now its low .2s at 25y (I did manage to get a .10" out of one group) or I was just off my game, which is a possibility. but im thinking it was a combination of both.
