Updated 2/26/12... Here is Prairiewalker's latest excellent file saved as .jpg's so they can be posted and viewed directly in this thread. These image files can be poached at will and moved to the front of this thread. I am happy to convert Prairiewalker's updates to .jpg's as they are available. A BIG thank you goes to Prairiewalker!

Exceptions to the rules...

Wow,
That's a great spreadsheet. I know that every "rule" has an exception, and I have one. According to the spreadsheet, the 1409 is a light barreled rifle.

I've got a 1962 vintage 1409 with a heavy bbl.

Was there an HB option? I'm not sure why Anschutz would have marked this so.

Also - can we get a list of abbreviations for the spreadsheet? I'm not clear on the stock shapes. T hole = thumb hole, but what is W?

Great post 23's dad, I think as time goes on we are going to find a pile of variants as Anschutz has been good at filing customers needs and has been known to fill special orders. Lets hope this site becomes a great resource for the odd and unusual Annies that are out there. Please keep posting

Folks its time to bug the mods into making this a sticky, I think we have enough good information to make this thing stick.

The front pages of this site indicate that for a Sticky we go through the Administrator or Moderator but it does not appear to tell us who these people are or how one contacts them!

I think I found something. Go here https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/showgroups.php . It lists Administrators and Moderators but it seems that our Anschutz forum does not have a moderator. Therefore I guess we need to contact an Administrator to find out about stickys.

Thanks PW, I have contacted the admins asking for help. You are correct the Anschutz site does not have a mod, so there is no one to make this a sticky. We will get it sorted out and make this a sticky once and for all.

I looked at the jpg list and it does not seem to list recent models like the 1600 series match rifles, 1900 series match rifles, 2000 series match rifles, Precise models, 54 msr, fortner, 1700 series sporters, air rifles like the 2001, 2002, 2002CA, 8002, 9003, 9003S2, 9003 Precise, 64s like the mpr, 64msr and others. I imagine since these are readily available, they would be important to list.

Terry,

We are working on it. The thought was that we should get something published ASAP and starting with the old stuff made sense because that is usually the hardest to find and the info in the memories of old farts will disappear as we die.

The modern and current information is almost a no brainer because it is available from recent or current catalogs and the memories of young guys, but it will soon be added to the list.

Please bear in mind that the list will never be finished because there will always be something new coming out.

Thanks for your interest.

Mike

P.S. Is the list providing usefull information or are we just spinning our wheels?

It is ABSOULETLY useful! It is a shame the manufactuers don't keep a file like that available to the general public.
