Sir: My 52c Bullguns range from 82576 to 100897(pictured in the 52 book) The Bullguns were listed from 1951 to 1961. The heavyweights and standardweights are also in this same time period. Only the 52c sporter has a shorter time span of sales which started in 1953. To answer your question: The 52c Bullgun could have the earliest 52c serial number or the latest and be right. The sales records are incomplete for 1951 and 1952 which would account for more than the 986 that are listed in the shipment records.

Just saw for sale at local store a 52 #1375. Looks solid and complete.

I have 39500 which was in Houze's book as being the last rifle (receiver) built on 1/10/36. I don't see a slot for that number in your list.

Hello, I have a heavy barrel unmarked A with a serial number of 39394. Could you tell me what year it was manufactured?

The serial number was assigned after December 14th, 1935 but no later than January 10, 1936. The lag time from serial number assignment to assembly and shipping for any given rifle is not known but sales records indicate about 10 or 11 rifles per day for 1935/1936, so the receiver probably didn't sit around long.

I have an unmarked 20615 with a Hubalek special on it. Great grand-father-in-law was an armourer in WW1. As soon as I get some pics I will post 'em.

I'm looking at what appears to be a sportier with a metal band. The seller states the serial number starts with a 2.

Is this a very early model?

Thanks.

Factory sporters did not have barrel bands; "sporterized" target rifles sometimes do.

I assume it is a target model? If so, I have never really kept track of the numbers on the unmarked A Target rifles. However that one is getting pretty near the end for the unmarked and close to the "A" marked rifles. I will take a look at my catalog and check it out.
Steve
