"13 MM" funner - Rico's Game

Log in to see fewer ads
NOW, wanna introduce a "starter" up game; and a "few" guidelines;

since this game is measured in MM's, plz mark your targets in Metrics.
IF your caliper does not have that button to switch to Metric, simply multiply
your groups by 25.4 and you will have the MM equivalent

> any bolt action as was decided upon here, sporters and varmints are both welcome, NO seperate classes,

> targets of your choice are to be shot at 50 yards. 4 shots each bull, 4 bulls on one card. to qualify,
ALL 4 bulls need to be equal to or less than < 13MM =B avg=8.23

Like Rico, we know the true mark of a great sporting/varmint rimfire rifle is inside 1/2" at 50 yards. I am not here to take Rico's place, but to carry on a fine tradition of 50 yard accuracy and excellent marksmanship. Thanks Rico for starting this fine thread. We miss you.

Here is a link to Rico's posting so you can research the accuracy of some of the rifles listed:

https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums...d.php?t=220588

And Ammohog's thread:

https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums...d.php?t=308465

Ammohog needs a sabbatical from running the game, as a result Vincent and Ammohog took leave of their senses and have agreed to allow me to stand in for a while. Even though RICOCHET's game is now in questionable hands, it will continue and I promise to do my best. Good Luck Shooters!

I think robmints deserves a big thank you for taking over one of SuperStock Bolt Action's oldest and best games.

I think the first day we had SuperStock Bolt action Forum started Rico started this game to mirror the similar game he had in SuperStock. As you old timers know Ricochet was one of our most respected members here at RFC and one of our most fun to have around. I am very glad to see his legacy, as well as a great game, continued here.

Thanks robmints.

You are more than welcome. For all the priceless knowledge, fun, and friendship I have received in the short time participating it's nice to be given the opportunity to help a little. And helping with one of Ricochet's games is special. rigrat, Vince, and all of Rico's friends, I honestly do know these games are special to you, thanks for letting me help.

As long as there are clothes it is usually okay. Chaser has pushed those rules about as hard as they can be pushed

I have also ridden a CZ as well as a Jawa that was made by CZ.

CZ 250cc MX was a weird combination of fine workmanship and weird design like the fact that even their factory racers raced to World Championships by Joel Robert (pronoucned "ro-bear") and Roger DeCoster did not have folding foot pegs!! DeCoster says he still gets pains in his legs from the crappy design. Both men won multiple World MX Championships with 250cc going to Robert and 500cc to DeCoster. This was late 1960's and very early 1970's.

Strange that CZ had Belgian riders. After those guys moved on they did have a Czech rider but his name escapes me and by then CZ was no longer a world beater with the German, Japanese, Spanish and Swedish bikes taking over. In fact DeCoster won more Championships for Suzuki.

Played hookey from work (pardon the 4-letter word) today and after taking Mrs. Cow off shopping for "stuff" and a quick lunch, headed off to the range to get CZ Trainer #2 sighted in.

She's an '03 model that got rescued this past January from the orphanage (pawn shop) and in fine shape

We were shooting at 50 yards with Fed 711b's and had one heckova pretty good time!!

Here's our 13mm or less target for your consideration:

...Frankly I was so excited that I even got this one witnessed by the range officer. ..Group average 12.65mm.

And, most importantly, this was done with IRON SIGHTS!! (Brno Match sights), Rock in front and rabbit ears behind. Had a good day today, for sure! ..

...cows.. ...don't need no steenking scope! HAH!!

Very nice Cow 54.Those Brno Match sights on those long barreled CZs are really working great for you. Hopefully one day I will get a chance to try my hand at shooting one set up that way.
