Welcome to the CZ/Brno ward Jim T., I'm amazed you're able to use that scope with it mounted so far back, Trainer/Specials are tough to mount unless you use a very short scope/ very long scope or very tall mounts.

Rifle model: 452 Ultra Lux
Scope: Simmons 8-point 3-9x40, fixed parallax
Ring brand and model: Millett .22 Angle-Loc medium (odd package, TP00702 MED in Matte)
Tweaks: remove rear tangent leaf

Comments: Scope has Butler Creek flip covers with no clearance issues. Bolt has approximately 1/4" clearance at its minimum, but the rear bell on this scope is not that large. Scope length 13" with covers. Front sight visible below 5x magnification. As long as your scope bell isn't too large this is one of the tighter-hugging rings that fit a hogback, and they're 100% steel which is a plus. Rail-to-scope is 0.420".

Primary use: target + hunting

453 Varmint-11mm Dove Tail
Muller Target 8.5x32x44 (only has 40 MOA elevation adjustment-reason for rings and base below)
Burris Zee Signature Medium rings
DIP 20 MOA base
Shooting off the bench
Comments: sets as low as I would want. Bolt handle clears and bolt can be removed and replaced, but not much extra room left. I'm happy.

Would like to thank everyone for all the insight into scope/ring combination for these CZ guns (I've got three). thanks,

Jim T.
The witness marks on your rings should line up, that's how they were matched up when they were machined. just saying

oops! thanks for catching that--this was pretty much a temporary combo, the scope went to another gun already. I want to keep the trainer with the iron sights for winter offhand practice, I shoot black powder (N-SSA) with open sights during the summer.

Okay, since I'm still new at this I'm not embarrassed to ask what "witness marks" are.
