I don't see any powder on the paper, so you must have been at least five feet away

Sorry guys. I really wish that I could say it was 50 yards but it's 25.
Still I'm pretty happy with the 333's and the Velocitors ain't bad.

Nice shooting even at 25 yards.

I must say, you have scoped it well with that Weaver. Next time open it up at the 50 yard line I bet it does almost as well. Beauty is more than skin deep with that 552, it's a looker.

OK, I issue a challenge.
Who can beat my 25 yard groups? Rem 552 with any ammo, any sights.
We'll be on the honor system.
If you can't post pictures we'll accept your written measurements.
FYI, the black squares on my posted targets are exactly one inch square.

I'd say you just came up with a real good doable challenge, Ron... great idea! How about a deadline? I vote for all entries to be in by/posted September 15, and I vote for Ron as the judge of the contest - what say you?

My Remmington 552 with orignal Weaver 3-6x (Rifle is 50yrs old and scope is 42yrs old) First rifle I ever shot. When I was a kid my summer job was shooting birds out of the Blueberry patch, nickle a bird. Friend of my dads gave me the scope and it hasn't come off since. If I were to guess how many rounds been through it I would say 10,000+ Like the challenge, whats the rules? 2BAB ammo, 5 shots at 1" square?

can i join

good day all:
can i play too, my speedmaster is a nov 64 dom.
no scope,factory open sights.
i had a very nice newer 552 bdl with the high gloss finish and a scope but it was very inacurate,so i traded even for the one i have now, which was in nowwhere as good a shape as the one i traded, but it's 50 times more accurate.
i've redone the wood and i'll never sell or trade this one,it's a keeper!!
so i'm trying to learn how to post pics with photobucket.when i get it figured out i'll post some pics.

OK
Any ammo
Any sights
Stock 552 except for trigger jobs
Fire at least three groups at a target with a 1 inch reference mark on it.
Post pics if possible

This is just for fun so I don't want to push the rules much further.
Have fun. I'd really like to see you guys outshoot me. I've heard too many remarks about the 552 being inaccurate.

Yes, 5 shot groups. The link in the above post is a near perfect target.
Go get 'em!
