I do not visit RFC like I once did but I check in every now and then. I read Indy's anouncement about his illness a bit ago and I now am sure sorry to hear this news. Indy had a huge part in the success of RFC and he will be missed.

Wow, Why is it everytime I look out of the forums I usually read I find bad news. I am very sadened to hear of Indy's passing. My family has also gone through some rough times recently with the passing of my father in law at 55 and my brother in law at 50. All I can say is only the good die young. My grandmother at age 92 always says to me "don't get old". RIP Dan.

I just found out about this! I didn't know Indy well but still hate to hear about it. It saddens me to see that some that so many people looked up to and appreciated has passed, yet I am glad he is no longer suffering. RIP Indy.

Can anyone update us on how his wife is doing and if there is anything that we might be able to do to help her out? Like donations for doctor bills and what not.

The true measure of anyone's life is the impact it has had on others'. Obviously his carried a lot more positives than negatives. Hopefully we can all say the same when our time comes.

I am deeply saddened by this, having great communications with Dan over the 4 years that I was Administrator here. Boy, come back after a 2 year hiatus, and all is sadness.

Cheers, Dan. We'll all miss you. *sob*

I rarely posted on here, and honestly, I don't visit very often. I haven't had time to enjoy the rimfire hobby very much. But Chaser, I agree with you. For years I had come by occasionally JUST to search all posts from ChiefDave, the guy was a hero to me. In fact, I look for information regarding his years of service during Vietnam, but have yet to notice. Anyway, when I logged on a while back and read he had passed, I was stricken with sadness. I was sad to see that my bookmarked thread of his passing has disappeared. I also recall there was a forum of our lost friends on here. I am sad I cannot find it. Is there any archived parts of this board where these threads still live on?

I guess I'm just having a down day... but it makes me happy that these great friends of ours from this board are remembered.

Any posts made in the Community Forum are temporary. Posts made in the other foums are permanent.

Some very good people are not listed in the forum dedicated to missing friends because only Indy knew how to update it.

Sometimes some leave us unknowingly and we, having no knowledge of their passing can not say thank you and a heartfelt good-by. To those I, we, bid you a sincere good-by until we meet again.

****! I did not know about Indy's passing until just a few moments ago!

I knew Indy since the founding of RFC from "Giz's 10/22 Forum".

The best that I can say about Indy....... is that he was "Good People"
