Nothing wrong with having a couple Hogue stocked 10/22's. They make great woods guns.

Left - Feddersen receiver, Ruger 16" .920 barrel reworked by CPC, Kidd Trigger Kit, JWH bolt, and Weaver V-24

Right - Ruger 10/22 TD receiver, TacSol barrel, CPC trigger and Bolt w/ Kidd guide rod, and Vortex Diamondback 4-12◊ AO.

I found this one at my local pawn for just over $200 pretty much as you see it with...

Factory receiver (1984)
Hogue Overmold Stock
Green Mountain fluted 20" bull barrel
Ruger BX-Trigger
Hawke HD 3-9x40 IR scope

The only things I did to it (after taking the pic) were polish the OEM bolt and add auto bolt release, Kidd charging handle, extended mag release, and a LH safety (for my southpaw son). All-in $275

Hogue OverMold stock, WhistlePig AccuLite barrel, TANDMEMKROSS "Ultimate" trigger by Brimstone, Vortex Crossfire II 4-12x50. This is a project rifle we've been documenting on my website. My wife has had two shoulder surgeries, and multiple hand/wrist surgeries. So I wanted more performance than a stock 10/22, while also reducing weight, if possible. Even with the scope, it's only about 6-7 ounces heavier than a factory 10/22 with wood stock and 18.5" barrel. A cheap Nikon 3-9 would bring it back to stock weight.

Here’s one of my Whistlepig/Hogue builds . Awesome can killer .

It’s seems I’ve gone full circle with my 10/22 rifles . All of the money I’ve wasted on stocks and none shoot any better or feel as good as a Hogue . Look for a few more coming soon as I convert my stable over to lightweight rifles . Tired of carrying the weight In and out of the house on range day .

Sweet rifle!

In a perfect world, I'd just keep a Jeep in the garage, with all my shooting gear inside, and a gun locker bolted into it too. But I choose to stay married instead.

I havenít tried shooting bug holes with it yet . I havenít even shot any expensive ammo out of it yet . Mostly CCI SV , Aguila SV , and some Federal bulk , which had a few jams .
But most of the shots were MOSP , minute of soup can @ 115 yards using mildot holdover .

I put this together with a Brownells barrel and railed receiver. It has a BX trigger and a factory bolt. I will eventually put a black Kidd bolt in it. The charging handle and thread protector are from Kidd.

My new "Hogue Ultimate". I'm calling it my NE Ridge Runner seeing as it has a Feddersen barrel and receiver. Kidd Trigger Kit, bolt, guide rod & charging handle, buffer, receiver pins, and TD screw, Gunsmither's block, and Weaver V-24.

A pair of twenty year old 10/22's. Back in the late 1990's Midway USA use to offer 10/22 barrel and stock combos. Not wanting heavy barreled target rifles I went with Midways 22 inch sporter barrels. The stainless rifle sits in the Hogue stock with a 3-9X leupold compact scope. The blued rifle is a walnut Fajen stock and until very recently wore a Leupold 2-7X rimfire but now wears a Nikon 4-12X. Both have trigger jobs.
